Almost all medical facilities require the medical staff to wear some type of scrub or uniform. Medical scrubs are especially nice for the visitors or patients in that it is easy to recognize the staff. It also saves wear and tear on the street clothes of the staff.

All of the doctors at the facility where my surgeon practices, wear lab coats. I like this because it distinguishes them from other staff. Most of the men also wear a tie. An air of assurance not haughtiness is present at this office.

My endocrinologist never wears any type of scrub or lab coat, just nice street clothes with his sneakers. All of the staff except 2 that I have seen are always in nursing scrubs. Even the receptionists and appointment staff wear scrubs.

I have not been able to style my hair for many years and it is even harder to do now because thyroid issues has made it so thin. I have about half the hair I had 4 years ago.

A few weeks back, I had my hair cut and when I asked how much she said well, I usually charge xx., but you get a family discount so it is zz. I said let me pay regular today because I may really need my hair done one day and not have the money.

I did want to look as nice as possible for Ma’s funeral so I told her Monday night that I needed my hair done, but I was working Tuesday. Long story short–when I got home from Pa’s house on Tuesday night I had a message that she was working Wednesday morning and could do my hair then. I replied and shortly she called me and I went Wednesday morning and she did my hair.

Ever thankful for those ‘adopted’ relatives.

I know that I did not look good but at least I was not embarrassed over how my hair looked.

I am sure that it would be nice for businesses to have that offer hay rides. Yes, coming back to the origin of the hayride, given a nice cup of hot cocoa and huddle by the fireplace to warm would be a great way to end a night of fun.

I am so deprived, (lol), I do not remember ever having gone on a hayride.

Yesterday was a very hard day for me. It was the day of the funeral for a ‘mom’ figure, one that I respected greatly and enjoyed being with her and other family members.

This family took me and my husband in years ago as ‘adopted children’. The 3 girls all say that I am the adopted sister. One of the grandsons told one of the funeral home guys that I was more a part of the family than he was.

Ma had not recovered from her brain surgery, June 3rd, as we all had hoped she would. She overcame one obstacle after another, but it just was not enough. I know that Ma had to be tired from all of the fighting to live that she had done. Pa was getting very tired, also. He visited with her everyday for at least 5-7 hours. Ma was 88 and Pa is 86. This schedule, everyday for almost 3 months, would exhaust a much younger person.

Lots of family and friends were there to give condolences to the family. I was in line with the family as if I were blood related because I was there to support in whatever capacity I could and I was needed there. My estranged husband, his daughter and son-in-law were among the friends that came. Seeing these 3 were not a problem for me. Bill does, however, need to give a more firm handshake (may be that he really did not want to touch me). I only know that he was wearing a dark suit, have no idea what color shirt he was wearing, only remember the tie because it had shades of lavender in it.

I am missing Ma and I know that Pa and the sisters are. I told one of them that this was no consolation but if Ma was given a choice she would not come back.

If ever a man loved his wife, Pa did! After God, this lady was always first in his life. Anyone who knew them knew this to be a fact. One of the preachers yesterday said in his comments that after visiting with them, he always tried to be a better husband and dad.

When I think of the pain and grief that Pa and the sisters are feeling, my heart cries for them.

Yesterday was hard in another way, too. Ma was at the same funeral home and same room that my dear mother-in-law, Granny, was in less than 5 months ago. ‘Cause you see, over the years I had learned to love Granny a great deal and she was a ‘mom’ figure and an example for me in my life. Two great and precious ladies that I have wonderful memories of that will be with me for as long as I can remember, are no longer here for me to enjoy in person.

This life will go on for me until I am called home or Jesus comes. The important thing for all of us is to make sure that when called, we are ready and can joyfully answer.

Personally, I prefer a bath in lots of very warm, almost hot water. Some have said that I am not clean because I am bathing in dirty water. I may not be clean but feel much cleaner than I do when I shower. The choice of shower heads is unlimited today.

I have heard many times over that showering uses less water than bathing so to reduce the water bill, I may need to start showering instead of bathing. I may need to switch my shower head to the Fire Hydrant Presidential as I understand it is one of the best on the market.

Before making a final decision on the shower head, I will have to visit takeashower.com and do a lot of comparative shopping. There are so many choices and so many options.

I really hate the thought of giving up my bath.

Prissy is my 6 year old granddaughter. She is a little shy but very loving.

Prissy called me last evening asking if she could spend the night. I said yes and she started crying. I asked why she was crying and she said I thought you may say no. I do not say no very often.

All during the night she would reach over and rub my arm or back. Is she afraid that I am going to voluntarily walk out of her life and she must check to make sure I am there?

I wish I could answer her unasked questions, but even if she asked them I am not sure I would know the answer. I have asked myself for a truthful answer to “why” and I do not have one.

Where does one look when they want to go to a nice dinner? Some may search the local yellowpages or ask friends. That is better than what I usually do, just go. Most of the time that is ok, but a few times it has backfired and that 1 time was more than enough.

Some folks may use the computer and list their city in local search for steak restaurant or seafood restaurant. Others may be looking for a wider variety of foods from which to choose and they could easily search local restaurants.

Sorry, I got a little carried away trying to tell you about local.com, a search engine that has it all. Visiting this one site will allow you to choose where and what type of entertainment that interest you, find driving directions, hours of operation, and even read reviews, and much, much more.

I really enjoyed my visit with friends at the lake yesterday. They are such good people and true friends.

After lunch her husband, Monroe, had a few errands to run so he left Diane and myself to catch up on the children and local town folk. She and I sat on the deck and watched the boaters and enjoyed the cool breeze and fellowship. I can not remember this lady ever saying anything bad about another individual.

She then drove me around the lake showing me the lake houses of different folks from Clarkton. When my rich uncle dies and leaves me his fortune, I am going to buy the house next door to her or the one 2 doors down. Right!!all of my uncles are dead and neither of them had enough to even make a will.

We then went back to her house and sat on the deck some more, Monroe came home shortly after we got there. I stayed maybe another 45 minutes and then I came home.

Monroe invited me back anytime and so did she. One said and the other agreed, “You have a key, use it, you do not have to wait for us to be here to come.” I have done that in the past but it is more fun if they are there.

There are several different types of host or hosting. One could host a housewarming, baby shower, birthday party, farewell party, or welcome home party to name just a few. There is a different type of hosting known as web hosting.

It is almost time for me to renew my web hosting. I am not very computer literate so I definitely want managed hosting. I want to tell my host in the beginning what I need or want and not have to worry every time I use the web if I am forgetting something I need to do for that particular time.

Attention small or medium business: Colocation may be the very thing you need. This will give all your locations immediate access without the need of correspondence by email or chat–similar to a conference call, also providing security and even faster speed.

The back yard was really hard to mow and I did not get all of it done. The grass is thicker in the back than in the front. It would be nice if I had some type of industrial products to help me with that chore.

I need to get the blades on the mower sharpened. I guess I will have to try to take them off myself and take them to “Honest Injun” and have someone sharpen them for me. Before I take them off, tho an artist I am not, I will have to draw how they are on so that I can put them back on correctly.

My goal is to one day be independent and not have to call neighbors or friends to help me do what needs to be done.
