SQUASH ??

I think I may be preparing the last of the squash for the freezer this season. I have a pan cooking now. These I am cooking in grease that I fried smoked pork chops. They should be quite tasty.

I was hoping the squash would bear for a longer time. It has been so hot here with little rain that I guess they are almost finished bearing. Instead of getting 12 to more every other day, I am lucky if I get more than 2.

The plants are no longer big and green even tho they have new growth.

Yes, I think they are about finished.

I wonder if it is too late to plant okra?? Anyone out there know??

WATERMELON

We enjoyed our first watermelon of the year yesterday. All of the grandchildren were not here but those that were sure did like it and the mess it causes.

We will have another one when they are all here or most of them.

WRONG DIAGNOSIS

The wrong diagnosis can surely be an unnerving time. The man, my SIL married several years after my brother died, was diagnosed as having mesothelioma. This was quite a trying time for her, especially as she knew first hand what cancer can do, as my brother had a different type of cancer. Thankfully, within just a few days, he was correctly diagnosed. I cannot remember now what was wrong with him. Today, you would think that he had never been hospitalized for any reason.

HANDLES

There are all types of handles–car door handles, refridge door handles, handles that help one get out of the tub or shower, suitcase handles, and the list could go on and on. Probably the most misused term is love handles. Some people, myself included, have several of those but in fact they are not handles at all, only rolls of fat.

Check this site for different types of industrial handles. Who knows, you may find just what you need.

I have a new do! I really like the haircut. The color is uh umm— what I get when I say, “I really don’t want red, but do what you want to this time “. It is only hair and it is only color. My granddaddy “Pa” use to say the only difference in a good haircut and bad one is 2 weeks. Like I said, the cut is great, but the color will change next time.

You may want to look into insurance lead generation before you look at the picture, just to be on the safe side.

UNPLANNED EXCURSION

For no known reason, we take off for Myrtle Beach mid morning yesterday. With no particular plans for what we will do, off we go. Spidey Man is with us, so DH wants to take him to Broadway at the Beach for a few rides. While they do this, I shoe shop with no luck.

We then go back to Tanger Outlet and I finally hit pay dirt. I find myself 2 pairs of shoes retail value $120., I pay $50. Also at another store, I find the Spidey Man a pair of shoes. DH and I never know when the grandchildren are with us if we will decide to go places so those shoes are to stay here. The baby girls also have shoes here. Now I need to get Bat Man shoes. Those children are so rough on their play shoes. Stunt Man voiced the other day, when it was mentioned, he no longer cared to spend the night with us. Not those exact words but same meaning.

While we were out and about Spidey Man and I looked at wooden laminate flooring. Some of that stuff is so pretty to me. I like the medium to light shades. While we were looking at home repair items and fixtures, I did not see any glass tile. I do not think we will be using any of that as we remodel and redecorate.

OK, now I will just wait for the next outing!!

WHY GO

Sometimes I wonder why I even bother to go to the doctor. Had an appointment with the endocrinologist Tuesday, saw the PA. I tell her that I am nauseated a lot and she says “have you tried changing your diet to see if that helps”. I say ‘no’, end of discussion.

She charged $95 to listen to me breathe with the stethoscope and feel me swallow water. Did not even have lab results because she failed to have them scheduled before I went in. Total charge for this visit with labs after the fact $497. Usually 3 strikes and you’re out, she only got 2. I was not impressed with her when I saw her the first time but was giving her a second chance. She Failed!! I will be seeing the doctor in the future and labs will be done before I go in.

RE-ARRANGING

I have mentioned in previous posts, that we are in the process of re-doing the kitchen and that I have re-arranged the room that I refer to as the freezer room. I guess technically this could be the pantry, the freezer room, or the office as I have moved my desk and computer in this room. I wish it were large enough to have nice office furniture but an 8×11 room is not very big. The size seems even smaller when a 2 1/2 feet wide freezer and a 2 feet wide desk are facing each other, with a chair sitting between them. Let it suffice to say “Barely enough room to get to the chair.”

BILLS and MORE BILLS

I realize that it is the 24th of June, almost the end of the month, but I have all of my bills paid for the month. That is good, because I am not expecting any more income this month.

Beginning in May, I put everything I owed, Credit Cards and Medical on a ledger sheet. I make a new sheet each month. This is really encouraging to me as I look at the beginning balance and the ending balance each month.

It is also sometimes discouraging as I look at the medical balances. Yesterday I had to add $497. to one of the medical bills, before insurance pays. I have payment plans for all of the medical that I owe. Hopefully I will have 2 of those paid off this year.

My goal of being debt free May 2013 is for Credit Cards only. I do hope to have a big chunk cut out of the Medical debt. I would have to pay one med bill almost $375. a month to have it paid off by my goal date, I can’t see that happening on my budget.

I did ramble, but all on the same subject—not having money that is not already designated.
