Styles of everything we wear changes. A couple of weeks before Christmas DH took me shopping. At one shoe store I got 2 pairs of shoes, one with very pointed toes and the other pair had square toes. So which pair is really in style? I would say the pair that I am wearing.

Remember the days of the elephant ear pants, poodle skirts and the saddle oxford shoes. What about those cat-eyed shaped eyeglasses. Wow! if you wore glasses back in the early sixties, those frames were a gotta have.

Styles come and go and then usually come again.

I am working my l-o-n-g hours today. I usually work 10-3 but today I am scheduled 11-3. Don’t know why, the pharmacy manager usally wants me to work 10-3, so I will go in at 10 and ask her. It is possible the schedule is incorrect.

Tomorrow, I will be keeping some of the grandchildren for DD#1 and her husband to do some things. I do not know how many she will want me to keep, all will be fine.

I do plan to do a few things in the house, known as housework. I want to get the kitchen back in top shape because I was lax over the weekend. Also I need to pull the chore cards DD fixed for me years ago and do Monday and Tuesday. It is a systematic way to do housework and really helps me as I am not organized and get sidetracked very easily. I will not have to look for the cards as they are where I left them when I was using them–in an index card box on the top shelf of my desk.

This blessing is one that I am so very thankful to have.

My 9 yo grandson (looks about 7) ran away from home yesterday. He was coming to my house. This little fellow has an unreal temper and the older children antagonize him until he just gets so angry. Unfortunately his anger is all his fault, never mind that he is pushed to his limit, whether it be by aggravation or teasing, note the other children have no fault in his becoming angry. (Sarcasm intended.)

I am so thankful that a very nice lady saw him, realized the danger he was in, picked him up and took him to my house. I was working. He told her where I worked, she called me and said that she would keep him with her until I could get to her house.

I am ever so thankful that someone who cared about a child walking by himself, picked him up rather than one of the perverts that live in our area.

DD had gone off with her dad.

The part that really makes me angry is that he told some of his family that he was coming to my house—NO ONE even called to make sure he had arrived safely. That is not exercising tough love–to me it is saying ‘I don’t care.’

I was very careful not to let him know that I was upset with the entire situation that made him leave his house. He did know that I was upset with him for doing so. I did get him to promise me he would never run away again.

The family came over today for lunch and while here the GD that had helped antagonize him made comment if so and such happened, he may run away again and he said ‘no, I promised Grandi I would not run away anymore.’

Hope your yesterday was calmer than mine. Wishing for all a very good week.

DH had told DGS#4 about the many, many fish at Broadway in Myrtle Beach. DGS said I want to go to MB and I replied I will take you. DGD#4 said I’ll go put on my shoes. We then had a discussion about when we would go and who would ride with whom.

I guess you had to be here, because reading about the conversation is not nearly as funny as hearing it.

Why did I volunteer to work today?? I really do not want to, but do not like for the pharmacy to be in a squeeze. Everyone that gets a prescription today will probably bring new insurance cards and sometimes that can be time consuming. I was asked to help out so that things would run smoothly. Wow! they must have a lot of confidence in me. lol

When asked if I would work on Monday’s in the pharmacy and maybe a Saturday or 2 a month, I said Monday’s and the first Saturday of every month. I have to work tomorrow but it will be busy, too, so it will not be too bad. I hate to work when it is slow.

Working 10-3 or 10-4 with a 30 minute lunch break is not bad.

Anyway, the extra hours will look good on my check. Extra hours also means more applied to my credit card debt. My goal is to have all but one paid off this year.

If you are off today, enjoy.

The maid did ok today considering the distraction of about an hour on the phone. Four calls to be exact

She did this

cleaned kitchen window

pressed and hung new swag @ the kitchen window

stabilized electric cord for light over kitchen sink

washed and dried 1 load of laundry

folded 2 loads of laundry (1 was in the dryer)

watched 5 of the grandchildren about 1 1/2 hours—the 3 boys watched a movie and the 2 baby girls followed her almost every step she took. If she turned around she almost stepped on one of them.

went to the bank

while out also did a little grocery shopping

rummaged thru chest type freezer for collards

prepared supper

will put black eyed peas in soak

and prepare fresh picnic for barbecuing before she goes to bed.

Yes, she did work fairly well today, so I will keep her a few more days and if she continues to improve, I will let her stay.

Tomorrow she will need to get up and vacumm, put away folded clothes and prepare a meal–then and only then will I consider letting her have the balance of the day off.

I know that labor contractions are timed and I wonder if I should use one or more Swatch watches to time the length of the pain spasms, or maybe I should just ’suck up and deal’.

I wonder if it is my gall bladder that wakes me. I have several of the symptons, but not all. I tell you one thing for sure–the pain is real and in the right location.

I was awakened on the 26th about 4:30 in the morning and hurt for about 2 hours. At times the pain was so bad I was trying to decide if I should call DH to take me to the hospital or just call 911. I did neither and the pain eventually went away.

This morning I was awakened about 6:30 and the pain lasted until about 12. Even though I hurt, it was not as bad as the first time. During the painful times I hurt all the time but at some times the pain is more severe as if I am having something like muscle spasms.

Whatever the problem, I really hope that I can wait until after the first of the year to have it checked. I will be on DH insurance then and with health costs high as the sky all types of insurances are needed just for an office visit.
