Yesterday and last night we received 3.9 inches of rain. Most of it fell between the hours of 4 and 9. It came down at times almost like rain from a hurricane. If the rain continues at this fast rate, I may need to consider cheap term life insurance. Seriously, the rain is good because we are still at a deficit here. I have always heard that a slow drizzling rain is better than a hard downpour. I guess we should be thankful for any rainfall that we get.
I am so glad to see the rain. The children have to stay inside but that is ok considering how much better the rain water is for our veggies and flowers than well water. This may mean squash real soon, sooner than I thought.
This rain is really good for the flowers I planted yesterday.
Monday we received 6 tenths and so far today 9 tenths. The weather forecasts is ‘scattered thunderstorms’ for the next 10 days.
DH set 3 cuke plants in the rose bed Tuesday and at least 1 of them is looking much better. Two on the backside of the yard look better, I think. I really can’t tell for sure looking thru the window.
Today was pretty here, great temperatures, nice wind flow, a very nice day to be out. The children played outside almost all day, even the Diva was outside some.
Grandaddy took the 3 boys with him to town shortly after lunch and the 2 little girls had quiet time. During this time I was on the puter, worked some in the freezer room and Diva watched TV. When they came back the girls were just getting up, so we (all the females) went to Wal-mart.
After we got home from the Wal-mart trip, Spiderman wanted me to go outside and play games with him. I had previously bought a ball and paddle game. Weird–one side of the paddle is a regular paddle and the other side is filled with little suction cups that grab the ball. We played this about 30 minutes. Yay for me—a little exercise. During this time, the only other child that wanted my attention was Prissy and she was easily appeased. I did enjoy being out with them.
As always when I go shopping, I spend too much money. I did get 2 pairs of home shoes for only $10. That is much better than the one pair I was tempted to get for $25. I probably would have gotten those but the size that fit me was not comfortable on my left arch. I also bought jelly beans–Love me some jelly beans! Got other stuff too.
I kinda rambled in this post, didn’t I?
The grandchildren are so bored. It is drizzling rain, so no outside play. I really do not have any indoor games for them except cards. This will be two days of watching Videos and DVDs. I probably have enough for them to watch all week and still not see them all.
I need a game related to cars for the boys, maybe enough Ferrari parts to build an entire modular car. This would be fun, time consuming, and maybe even use their brain. They each build a car in Boy Scouts for the annual derby.
When I am in town again, I will have to shop for rainy day toys, for boys and girls, and some patience for me. lol
It was very cloudy this morning having rained overnite. The sun is trying to peek thru the clouds now. I sure hope it does. Our temps are suppose to start dropping today and a prediction of possibly snow on my birthday with a high of 36.
I just went to the weather channel and prediction has been changed—just very cold with a high of 32.
Back to the sun coming out, if it does, I guess I will have to let the poor little underprivlidged girl that I never let go out, go out and play for a while.
I sure hope that I feel much better tomorrow. I have the earache (earsache), sinus infection, scratchy throat—all of the head junk that makes one feel really bad. I have got to figure out something to take that will help fast. Right now I do not feel much like having a craft show that is scheduled for tomorrow. My 13yo GD is helping me because DD#1 has pre-committed to assist with the boy scout hike. The 15yo GD is also helping with the hike.
I need to stock up with throat lozenges and kleenex and carry on as if there is nothing wrong with me. Go in with a happy face, a good attitude, lots of smiles, and hope to make lots of money.
We will be inside, but the temp is predicted to be only 56 and partly cloudy. The building is metal, no insulation, no heat and concrete floors with big garage doors that will be open. That means that I will be cold.
I am cold! Yes, the heat is going full blast and I have on a lightweight jacket. Must be a mind thing. It is 39 degrees now and we had just a few snow flakes this afternoon. That’s it! a mind thing-snow means cold right? The younger grandchildren were so excited. I do not know the weather for tonight except cold, will I ever be surprised if I get up for work tomorrow and the ground is covered with snow. That would be very bad news for me—I am scheduld to work and I do NOT drive in the snow.
It has been chilly almost cold to me most all day. The temp here has been in the low 50′s with rain or mist all day. I usually am very hot but not this day. I am chilly now, thinking seriously about switching the unit from a/c to heat. Maybe if I cover my ears, I will be warm. Time will tell. I am not complaining, but my seasonal preference is spring. I can look to the future, just 5 months and we should begin to see signs of spring.
I have accomplished almost nothing today. Washing and hanging one load of clothes does not add up to much done. I have gotten my weekly calendar up-to-date with my pay stubs posted in it. I have also done a little checkbook math. I really need to get busy!!!! and I will——-after I have boiled peanuts for lunch.
Would have done more but we have had quite a bit of lightening and thunder and a little rain.

Last week-end we put a tent over our air conditioner unit for the sole purpose of shading it. I have read if the air conditioning unit is shaded it will not have to work as hard, thus reducing the cost of operating. I am all about cutting expenses, so that money can be spent on fun activities. As I think I may suffer a life threatening disaster if our air conditioning compressor quit working, I want to do all I can to make sure it works very well.
