MEETING with COUSINS

I have posted about the family reunion that cousins on Mother’s side of the family invite me.  Tonight I am to have supper with 2 cousins from Daddy’s side of the family.  Originally there were 19 first cousins, now there are only 5.  Probably for the past 4 or 5 years, I have been invited to go to Whiteville for this gathering.  I even took Mother once or twice.  I am looking forward to going.  The only drawback is DH does not want to go, so I will ride with a deceased first cousin’s son.  It is not far, he offered to let me ride, so I do not even have to concern myself with any travel deals.  Can’t get much better than that–free ride plus good company.

BITTER DAY

What a very cold, bitter, cold day we had here in the southeastern part of NC.  Did I say it was cold today?  Try setting up for a craft show between 7:30 and 8am outside with the temp about 35 degrees and a slight wind.  Yes, that is cold for someone like me who prefers to be in a cozy warm house when temps are like that, especially that early on a Saturday morning.

This day was also bitter because rather than make money we lost money.  We did not even make enough to cover the space rental fee.  We probably would have been better off to spend our money on Ephadrasil hardcore even if we may not need it.

It sure is a good thing that we enjoy beading or we would be more disappointed than we are.

VEGAS

I have never and will probably never take any Vegas vacations, as Vegas is on the far west coast and I am almost in the ocean on the east coast.  I have been as far west as Colorado Springs and that was far enough.  If I had family in Vegas, then vacations there would probably be one of my top priorities.  I have heard of the excellant resturants and and nice shows that are in Vegas but we also have the same here.

WALK WALK WALKING

Everyone probably knows that walking is one of the best exercises to reduce the pounds. I just need to get up and do a little walking. When it is time to go out the door, I can think of several things that I need to do, so I never even open the door. I bet if I had an exercise room in my house and it contained several treadmills, I could still think of excuses not to use even one of them. I guess until I develop more discipline, I will be on the heavy side.

VACATION RENTALS

When going on vacation, do you stay in a hotel, condo, cabin or cottage.  We usually make our reservations by phone at the hotel where we always stay.  We are not much into change.  If I were going north on vacation instead of south I would possibly contact Outer Banks rentals, seeing if they had what would interest me.  I know someone that has a beach house on Emerald Island, so maybe that would be as close to the outer banks as I need to go.

INSURANCE AGENTS

Is your insurance agent there for you when needed?  Do you have the best insurance that you can afford that gives you the most for your buck?  Sometimes we just need to shop around for auto insurance quotes just like we would shop around if we were going to trade cars.  Often what you have is really not what you need and may not supply nearly all the coverage in dollar amount that you do need.

Also, when checking quotes, make sure that your agent is concerned about what you need or ask, just not the commission involved.  I have emailed my agent twice about the same issue within a short period of time and have not heard from her yet.  This definitely gives me reason for concern.

ARE YOU HOT

Usually if I am hot, my husband is cold and if he is hot, I am cold.  I always try to have the house at a comfortable temperature when he comes in from work.  I do panic when the air conditioner hums in a weird way and hesitates to come on.  Our unit is very old-in fact is has cooled us for 28 years.  We have had to have minor repairs done to it in the past 8 or 10 years but never have we had to replace the air conditioning compressor.   If that should need to be done, because of the life span of this unit, we would just replace it and probably save money by doing so.

MAKING CREDIT DECISIONS

This is usually a decision that takes some thought and financial planning.  Credit card decisions can be good for some individuals but for others can be the beginning of the end of serious debt.  Ask me how I know.  I have learned that plastic money is not the best way to make purchases.

In our present economy, I strongly urge anyone to make sound decisions before using that credit card for any type of shopping and especially Christmas shopping.  Learning the hard way is expensive in more ways than one—one can not purchase with cash items that are on sale, go out to eat, or enjoy a movie. One is forced into a very tight budget!  WHY??? Because the money you would use for this has to be applied to your monthly credit card payment.  If you do not make your payment and make it on time, one’s credit rating is lowered and possibly a higher interest rate is enforced.

My advice is: If you do not have a credit card, do not get one. If you have one, DO NOT use it except for true emergencies.  Also, if you have a credit card with a balance, pay more than the monthly payment and pay it off as soon as possible.

COMFORTABLE ??

What is one of your most favorite things to wear that is ever so comfortable? I really like to lounge around the house in a T-shirt that is one size too big. If my T-shirts fits properly, I will wear them shopping or visiting. There are some implying (my opinion), weird and funny imprints on T-shirts that I have seen when I am out and about.

If you shop online, funny t shirts has a wide selection of all types of imprints. The imprint pictured below describes me perfectly.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

No, I am not looking for a job!   I will soon have a full time job, if I do it to the specifications that I have set for myself.  At any rate, if I am swollen like I am today, with my feet so swollen they are uncomfortable to walk upon, I really do not think any one listed with logistics jobs would consider that a reason to call in to work.  I know that my present employer would not, but if I am working for myself and this happens I can only do what I feel must be done. No boss, no rules but also no money.

What does the above paragraph have to do with job qualifications??
