BULLETT

Saturday, February 11th, 2012

As cold and windy as it is going to be tonight, I bet Bullett is sure glad that I let him sleep in the washroom with a soft rug he can snuggle in.  I am almost tempted to let him in the house but I guess I better not.  He is trained to not come in the house, he will stop at the door and just look in.  Sometimes he may act as if he will enter and all I have to do is call his name and he stops.

I do not know if the food I am giving him does not satisfy or if he is really hungry.  He acts as if he is always hungry.  I hope he is only acting.

Bullett ties me down sometimes, but I will surely miss him when he is no longer.

BAD DREAM

Friday, February 25th, 2011

Since I have had Bullett, July will be 9 years, I have only forgotten to let him in at night a very few times.  I always feel so guilty when I forget him.

Tuesday night I dreamed that I had forgotten him.  In the dream I got up to let him in and when I opened the back door, he was laying by the door dead.  I woke my self up crying.  It had rained and he was soaking wet.  Yes, in the dream I felt as if I had not taken proper care of him.

During our marriage, Husband and I had 2 other dogs, the Dachshund died during a rare snow and the Terrier mix during a very rainy night and was out of her doghouse.

Is this dream a warning of what may happen, Bullett is almost 10 years old.

DOGS

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010

I have a dog, while some folks have 2, 3, and sometimes more dogs.  Proper care is very expensive–Does anyone want a dog that is about 8 years, part Jack Russell and was abused as a puppy?

Bullett (my dog) has never had any dog beds. He has always been happy to come inside and go in his crate.  He is only allowed inside at night and during very cold or bad weather.

Bullett never tries to come into the house, I open the backdoor which leads into the washroom, having already opened his crate and he goes right in.  I feed him a small amount and he is content until the morning when I let him out and give him his morning food.

I said after my last dog died that I was thru with pets, but just could not stand the thought of this little fellow being abused.  Hope I never see another abused animal.

BULLETT

Thursday, October 28th, 2010

Bullett is my dog.  He is company for me and sometimes so funny.  He will turn round and round in fast circles when I am about to pour him his food.  He will also get his tennis ball and run just as fast as he can across the yard, back and forth, then bring it to me so that I can throw it for him to fetch.

The little critter makes me laugh every time I come home and it is past time for him to be inside.  He always comes to the back gate to welcome me home.  I will say to him, “If you are ready to go in, go ahead.”  He will then run up the handicap ramp so fast that he makes me think of a horse running.

I do have a problem with him, tho.  He has stayed in the laundry room at night in his crate every night but one since I have had him unless he was in the kennel.  I have been invited by 2 different friends to spend the weekend with them and can’t easily do that unless I have someone to take care of him for me.  Still pondering on how I will handle this as I can’t afford to kennel him.

HURRICANE IDA

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

We have really not had any damage at our place from Ida and I am thankful.  Several places 30 or so miles away have flooded and roads had to be closed.  Some schools were on 2-hour delays this morning.  A school in a neighboring western state opened and then sent the children home an hour or so later. I wonder if they used a mass notification system to alert the parents that their children were on the way home.

We have gotten about 6 1/2 inches of rain and it is still misting.

Bullet (my dog) doesn’t like to be out in the rain and stayed in almost all day yesterday and did not want to go out early this morning but was ready a few minutes ago.  When I walked in the wash room, he stood up in his crate, I opened the doors and out he went.  I’ll check in a few minutes to see if he wants to come back in.  His life is easy–outside in the daytime, inside at night and during bad weather.

I sure did switch subjects in this post.

HORSES

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

As I was growing up, my dad had mules to work with on the farm and once I remember he had a farm horse.  My husband once had a beautiful quarter horse.  I never rode it.  I have always been very respectful of dogs and large animals.  I think most horses are really beautiful and most move gracefully but are too big for me.

My friend, across the river, has a mare that she raised from a baby.  This horse is 32 years old.  Needless to say she gets the very best horse supplies for Leta. This friend also has 3 Paso Fino horses, 2 mares and 1 stallion. These horses get the best of care possible.

She and her husband went last year to Paso Fino horseshow that was held in Georgia.

FEEDING THE FISHES

Friday, February 29th, 2008

I do enjoy good fish. I had much rather have the fish satisfy my hunger than me feed the fish. I enjoy eating croaker, catfish, flounder, spots and whiting. The only fresh water fish I like is the catfish. I also like canned salmon cooked with eggs and served over rice. Wow! I just finished eating and could eat a good piece of fish now. I do not like fish served on a buffet, I prefer to go to a seafood restaurant and order them from the menu.

Now to the topic of this post: There are many ways to feed fish, beginning with the type fish one may have. Some fish food is made for only particular species of fish while other fish foods may be for several species. One must select the correct food for the type fish in the aquarium to promote the best of health. Visit aquariumguys.com to see a great selection of fish food varieties by either brand or type. Here you can also find the best feeding process on just a regular small aquarium, huge aquarium or even just a tiny bowl with goldfish in it.

Also, they have feeders that will save you the hassle of having to feed your fish everyday, they offer 3-day and 7-day feeds. Here you can also get the supplies needed to test your aquarium water for the correct levels of minerals, maintenance items, anything that may be need for your aquarium including ornaments. Everything is here one may need to start the relaxing activity of fish watching except the fish.

PET GIFTS

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

What are you getting your cat or dog for Christmas? Some folks spend as much on their pets as they do their spouse. Checking on line at bloomingcookies.com I found some very nice pet gift baskets. Their gift baskets also cater to the pet owner and pet sitter. While searching for online pet gift baskets, one could also find a pleasing gift for the owner or sitter. Gift baskets for pets is a new line for bloomingcookies.com and offers the same high quality as all of their other gift baskets. Many of the gift baskets are a combination of cookies for human consumption and animal treats.

BULLETT the DOG

Monday, November 19th, 2007

This is our spoiled dog Bullett. He is mixed with Jack Russell and Sooner (just as soon be one breed as another). He is very intelligent and obeys us very well. He stays outside during the day and in his carrier at night in the washroom. If we are home during the day and it begins to rain, we let him in to his carrier. All we have to do is open the back door, open his carrier and he never stops until he is in the carrier. We have had him since July of 2002 and he has been in the house twice, I scolded him the first time, picked him and took him to his carrier and the second time only scolded him and he quickly went to the washroom.

I think his coloring is much like that of a German Shepard. I thought maybe he was a miniature, but the vet says ‘no such breed’.

PET TREATS

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

Bullett loves a snack. If he thinks I have something for him, he gets in the “beg” position. I really enjoy playing ball with him and watching him do his tricks. Often I have to go back for his treat.

I can’t think of a better way to reward my dog than with a treat that he’ll love and is healthy. Bully sticks are a great way to give your dog all natural dog treats that they’ll enjoy for hours, but that they can digest normally, unlike rawhide. It’s great that these quality chews for dogs are both healthy and enjoyable for your dog. Thanks to Best Bully Sticks and their dog chews and treats my dog, and yours, can have a treat that’s good for them and that they’ll enjoy.
