LOVE DAY

Friday, January 7th, 2011

Love Day or Valentine’s Day–one and the same, of course if you have someone with whom to share love, I guess Love Day is the best description.

Up until recently I shared Love Day with someone and he never gave me flowers because he knew that I am not one for cut flowers.  He did, however, one February 14 shortly after we were married give to me a pendant with 2 small diamonds in it.  I am still wearing it.

He knew he would never go wrong with a box of chocolates!  I always received other gifts and we would share the candies, as we both like chocolate, he dark and me milk.

GOLFING IN MYRTLE BEACH

Monday, September 27th, 2010

I do not golf, but if I did, I would surely want to play some of the courses in Myrtle Beach.  My husband, in years past, played several of the courses there.  One thing for sure, I would want convenience and am told this can be achieved if I book with http://www.myrtlebeachgolf.net.

Golfing is a great game for exercise if you walk the course.  It also offers time for good fellowship with your friends or even the opportunity to make new friends.  There are so many golf courses in Myrtle Beach that it is known as the golf capital of the world.  Do not be stressed before you play, trying to book your hotel accommodations and tee times, let Myrtle Beach Golf Courses take care of that for you.

If I should ever decide to play this sport, I will not have the hassle of finding tee times with close by accommodations as I have found this site that will do all the work for me and all I will have to do is enjoy my time while in Myrtle Beach.  Myrtle Beach Golf Packages will do the same for you.

SNAIL MAIL

Saturday, September 25th, 2010

Yes, there is still ‘snail mail’.  I usually get something everyday.  Most of the time I bring it in walk by the recycle trash and drop it.

There are lots of curbside mailboxes at apartment complexes.  These types of mailboxes must meet government regulations just as a single curbside mailbox.  If one has a regular single mailbox, it has to be minimum size and so many feet from the road edge and can only be so high.  These rules are to the benefit of the mail deliverer.

I hope that I can always maintain a certain amount of independence and never have to live where curbside mail boxes are provided for those living in assisted living apartments.

I much prefer my ‘side of the road mail box’.  DH did a great job when he purchased this one.  When the door is opened a little yellow flag pops up  thus eliminating trips to the mail box before it has been delivered.

SCHOOL AGAIN

Saturday, September 25th, 2010

The children received their progress reports yesterday and all did well.  If they should have a problem with any of their math homework, they can surely get free math help.

Tutornext.com offers online assistance for grades K-12 and then on into college math.  The first grader came home this week with several word math problems.  I think this is a little early for written problems, this may be why I am not in the educational field.

No matter what you are having difficulty with or what grade you may be, the assignment help and online tutoring services is convenient and affordable and can surely assist you with free homework help.

SHOPPING HELP

Tuesday, September 21st, 2010

Would you like for someone to do the brain work for you when it is time to shop?  That is exactly what ShopWiki does, that is their business, they have approximately 30,000 stores in which you can shop.

If you are in the market for a home theatre, ShopWiki is your one stop shopping.  Best prices and very informational on the product that you may select, including receivers and projectors.

Maybe you have the TV you want but would like to upgrade from your old DVD play to a new Blu-Ray.  It is my guess that within a few years, everyone will have to upgrade as the regular DVD player will no longer be available.

Does not matter if you are looking for a new Plasma television or just a MP3 player, you will find the best deals and savings at ShopWiki because they have more products from more stores.

REMODELING

Monday, September 20th, 2010

I do wish I could afford to finish the kitchen makeover and needed repairs to the house.  I doubt that will ever be done as all of my uncles are dead and none of them were rich so they did not leave me a fortune.

I would like to have tiles placed on the upper wall behind the stove.  I was told this would be done February of 2009, now this couple will never do it.  I have thought about ordering apple designed tiles to go there but have learned you get what you pay for and they are cheap and reviews are not encouraging.

Both of the bathrooms need some repair and bathroom tiles would be a nice change in them.  I have such a hard time deciding what I want in decor that it would take me as long to decide on the tiles as it would to do the repair.

Would be nice if I could just take a chance and order subway tiles, seeing what this pattern would be.  I could do that know but it really is not a good idea so I will not take that plunge.

VACATION TIME

Monday, September 20th, 2010

NOT!!! It would be if my husband had not left me. He usually took me either to the Bahamas or Myrtle Beach for our anniversary.

Even tho our anniversary is in September, we usually waited until October, so now I would be visiting this site http://www.myrtlebeachseasideresorts.com/ checking what was available where , when and how much and the amenities.

I do not think golf packages Myrtle Beach would be a factor as DH has not played golf in several years.  Maybe if he had maintained his friendship with his golfing buddies, things would be different.  Not to play was his choice not mine.

That milk is already spilled and I can’t change it, therefore, I will  not be interested in or tying to make reservations at www.myrtlebeachseasideresorts.com.

TRADING

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

I am not one to participate in trading stocks and other mutual funds.  I think a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.  Many people disagree with me and spend a big part of their time in Online Trading.  Some depend fully on themselves in deciding what to trade or keep and others use an Online Broker.

I have heard of folks using money in their IRA Accounts to trade for stocks, mutual funds and mobile trading.  FIRST TRADE is a very reputable company and have competitive costs and many thousands of satisfied customers and is more than willing to assist you in your buying and trading.

My income is very limited and this may be the way to increase what I have, but am just afraid to go this route.

MS-MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

What a change this disease makes in one’s life.  Often times, Multiple Sclerosis is not diagnosed or is mis-diagnosed until it has progressed into its middle stages.  One of my co-workers had symptoms for years and she passed them off as nothing.  Eventually, her face went numb and at the ER, she was told that she had had a stroke.   After admission to the hospital and further testing, it was determined that she had had MS Symptoms for quiet some time.

A lot of people, including my friend, try to stay on a Multiple Sclerosis Diet.  These diets are sometimes hard to follow and may be expensive.  As with anyone, maintain healthy eating habits, avoid foods that excite the central nervous system such as coffee, alcohol and cigarettes.

One with MS should avoid stress as much as possible.  This would be good for all that have a tendency to be overcome by life’s problems.  We can read endless material concerning the dos and do nots of those suffering with MS, however the best advice can be received from one’s health care provider as they can provide correct and accurate information.

SCRUBS

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

Almost all medical facilities require the medical staff to wear some type of scrub or uniform.  Medical scrubs are especially nice for the visitors or patients in that it is easy to recognize the staff.  It also saves wear and tear on the street clothes of the staff.

All of the doctors at the facility where my surgeon practices, wear lab coats.  I like this because it distinguishes them from other staff.  Most of the men also wear a tie.  An air of assurance not haughtiness is present at this office.

My endocrinologist never wears any type of scrub or lab coat, just nice street clothes with his sneakers.  All of the staff except 2 that I have seen are always in nursing scrubs.  Even the receptionists and appointment staff wear scrubs.
