GOD is GOOD

As I was backing from under the car shed, I noticed that something was not as it was when I parked.  I thought maybe it had something to do with the very hard rain we had during the night.  I only went about 400 feet and decided I needed to get back in the yard and see what was wrong.

This is the good part—As I was backing back to the house, a young man, Travis Hern, graduated in 2005, stopped and asked if I needed help.  To my knowledge, I have never seen him until today.  I don’t know how this happened but my tire was coming off of the rim.  Travis took that tire and rim off and put on the little spare.  I have not changed a tire since I was 19, I know I could not have done it.

After the spare was put on, it is discovered that it was flat (never been used).  I called my sister-in-law’s husband asking him to please come with his air thingy and pump up the tire when he it is convenient for him.  He is over in less than 20 minutes.

YES, God is soooo very good to me.  Yesterday, I went to Myrtle beach and had no problems at all, God provided safe traveling mercies.  Today I am so close to home when something happens and God has this young man come my way.  No, I do not believe it just happened that way, it was all in God’s master plan.

God ALWAYS blesses me, some are more attention getting than others.  I have warranty on my tires so I go to Sears for the needed repairs.  It is determined that the one I want repaired cannot be repaired and the others should be replaced very soon.  Call it whatever you want but I prefer they all be purchased at the same time.  So with a bill of $735.89 (includes oil change, filters and coolant), I agree for the needed work to be done. I will put it on one of the Sears credit cards, pay it off in 6 months and have no interest.  The original tires were suppose to be good for 65,000 miles, since I had only driven 38,000, they gave me a tread adjustment.  With the adjustments and my K-Mart discount, my bill is $495.96.

GOD is GOOD!!

SINGING

Last night was a special treat and blessing for us. Baby daughter and her husband were singing at their church and invited us to go.  We both enjoyed the song service and especially when they had a part.

She sings very well and so does her husband.  They sang one of her dad’s favorite songs.

I am sure we will be going to hear them sing again.  We were welcomed by all and made to feel as if we were not even visitors.

FRIENDS are a blessing.  I am speaking of what happened this week, in actions and words.  To protect those involved and the innocent I cannot tell the story, but believe me, it was indeed a blessing that will not be forgotten.

BLOG your BLESSING 8-16-09

This happened last Saturday, 8-8-09.  Not only is it a blessing, it is a miracle and evidence of God’s mercy.

My brother and nephew walked 11 people to the beach, all of them 15 or younger except for 1 and the youngest was 3.  I think only 2 were good swimmers and am not sure about that.

My sister-in-law and I walked down a few minutes later.  When we arrived we evaluated the situation—–NOT GOOD.

“Brother, where is the DaBaby?”

“Right Here.”

“No, that is Prissy.”  (In his defense they are about the same size and the bathing suits are identical except one is pink and one is blue.)

We frantically look up and down the beach—we do not see DaBaby.  Everyone is called from the water and the search begins.  Nephew and I probably walk at least ten blocks in one direction and the others go in the opposite direction.  I am about to go nuts, imagining that she has either been washed out to sea or that someone has taken her. How am I gonna tell her mama.  On the way back to our tent, nephew says “I think Diva is carrying her on her back”.  I can not see well enough to determine if this is fact. He then says “Yeah, there they come.”  I am flooded with thankfulness and relief.

DaBaby had just walked away.  Diva found her ‘way, way’ down the beach.  Two ladies saw her and determined that she was lost and was trying to get info from her so they could locate us.  When asked why she walked away and even on Friday of this week she said she was looking for Uncle and me.

We immediately said everybody has a partner and Prissy and DaBaby were very very closely watched.

Let it be said that no one is to be blamed for this happening unless it is me.  11 people are too many for only 2 people to watch.  I cannot swim, my brother and nephew can, so I should have gone with them to watch Prissy and DaBaby.  Batman and Spideyman did not care to go very deep, so I could have helped keep an eye on them.

Needless to say that when they went back on Sunday, I was right there from the get-go.

Yes!  What a blessing.

This is the terrifying event that I mentioned on 8-9-09.

BLOG your BLESSING 7-12-09

I do not post regularly here, not that I do not have daily blessings, sometimes it is just hard to express myself.

I have heard this expression all my life:  “God takes care of drunks and fools.”

Friday night I went to the local Wal-mart and shopped too long and it was dark before I left.  I had put a card (in store credit) in my pocket worth $46.82.  I put the receipt for my purchase as I was walking away from the register in my pocket.  Apparently, as I took my hand out of the pocket, the card fell out.  At the door, I stopped to get everything ready to get gas, no card!!  I went thru my pockets again, checked my bags, and checked my wallet,  still no card.  As I looked up in desperation, I saw something on the floor a few feet from the register that I had used.  I walked over and there lay my card.  Thank You, Jesus!!

The fool part is:  I never should have put the card in my pocket but kept it in my wallet.  Someone else could have easily found the card and used it.

BLOG YOUR BLESSING 5-31-09

I will comment on DH as my blessing this week.  It seems that he goes out of his way to please me.



2 purple verbena



1 pink and 2 raspberry colored verbena

On the 23rd of May he planted these with the purple, just as I asked. After seeing them around the purple for a week, I decided that I did not like them there and wanted them in pots for this summer.

I tell him Saturday I need to go to Wal-mart for flower pots and Miracle Gro.  Later in the day, away we go, stop for Bojangles on the way home and then he goes out and pots the verbena for me.



The pink one is already spreading really well.





Maybe the raspberry will soon catch up.

Oh yes!! he does spoil me.

BLOG your BLESSING SUNDAY 5-3-09

Bless Blessed Blessings. I have many, many blessings. Today I will say that my blessing is my sight. So many wonderful things to see. I am just amazed at how things grow (vegetation) because of the life in them and then am just amazed as to how they die when their time is spent or may die because of lack of a good rooting. Just as if we do not have a good rooting in our Saviour, Jesus Christ, we will surely die.

BLOG your BLESSING 3-22-09

Blessings are always around me.  Sometimes it is an everyday thing such as fresh air, food, lodging, someone to love or someone to love me.  Everyone is not so fortunate to have such blessings.  I admit, blessings that I take for granted.  Even tho, I consider some of them to be a given, I am thankful.

Other times it may be the unexpected lunch with relatives, or visiting with one of my high school classmates or hearing that a surgery was successful.

On this earth, at this time, my biggest blessings and the three that I am most thankful are freedom of religion, family, and friends.

BLOG your BLESSING 3-01-09

Have not posted on this lately.  Not that I have not had blessings, just hard sometimes to find the words that will represent my feelings.

On this cold, rainy, winter day, I am enjoying the promise of spring.  There have been scores of Robins in the yards today.  I look out the kitchen window, I see Robins.  If I look out the living room windows, I see Robins.

I even saw a Cardinal couple.  I saw a BlueJay today, also.  I have been seeing Bluebirds all winter, which I think is a little odd.

We had snow a few weeks back, not much, just a medium dusting and the next week the daffodils were in full bloom.

I am indeed ready for Spring, but am thankful that I do not control the weather.
