At this time in my life, I am not even sure that I want to date.  Being with someone in a group of friends is one thing but one on one dating is another.

I have been told that I need to go to some of the on line dating sites and have also been told that may not be a wise decision.  If I should decide that is what I want to do, I will definitely visit free dating online at  I really do not think this is my cup of tea or coffee.

I personally know a couple that met on line, married, and have been together about 10 years.

Most all people will celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday with family and friends.  I do not, as of  now, have any plans for Thanksgiving day and that is ok.  However, I do have plans for the Friday after and Saturday night after.

Friday I am preparing a meal for my daughter and her children.  Her small request was just chicken ‘n’ pastry and then she added greens and then I added fried chicken.  The menu has really grown and to my shock, I am looking forward to preparing the food.  She offered to help me, but I told her I would do it.  I know that I will be preparing for at least 8 people, 4 adult eaters and 4 children.

The menu:  chicken ‘n’ pastry

cornbread dressing (not a mix-made from scratch)

turnips w/mustard and turnip roots

fried chicken (wing pieces)

rice w/gravy

cranberry sauce (if I do not forget it)

watergate salad

If anyone wants dessert, they will just have to eat more of the main course unless I change my mind.  Coconut pie is sounding pretty good.

This will not be bad for me to prepare alone.  I can prepare the stewed chicken, dressing, turnips, and watergate salad ahead.  Turnips and salad probably on Tuesday or Wednesday, stew the chicken and bake the cornbread and mix the dressing on Thursday.  That will make the finishing up on Friday easy-peasy.

Would you like to join us–give me a call if you would, want to have enuff food for all.

Plans for Saturday–meeting new people and an oyster roast.

Some folks have homes that a decor of log cabin furniture would be really pretty. Others of us need different styles and different eras.

My living room furniture could be replaced now but it will last several more years, I hope.  When I do replace it, cabin furniture will not be an option.  I am just dreaming here, I will probably never replace any of my furniture as long as I live alone.  As of this moment, my plans are to live alone for the rest of my life so I do not even need to be thinking about furniture of any type.

Since my husband of almost 34 years left me July 2010, I have renewed the relationship I had with the sister and brother of my first husband.

I divorced him and so often when this happens, all relationships are forgotten.  I am so glad that Rowena and John accept me for me and treat me just as they did so many years ago.  The nieces and nephews do, also.

Anytime my daughter goes for a visit, I am invited and each time Rowena says “I am so glad you could come”.  John is John and lots of fun.

I am ever so thankful that they still love me.  Good hearted people without selfish motives are hard to find.  This is an attribute of all the family I saw this week-end.  I am looking forward to the next visit and I have been home less than 2 hours.

I am afraid of wind and lightening.  I do not know why, I just am.  I was never told as a child that it would harm me.

I wish that I had a basement that was water proof or a storm shelter.  I know that I would feel much safer during severe storms if I had safe shelter.  Also, I would not have to evacuate during hurricanes.  I often went to my mom’s during hurricanes, can’t do that anymore and going to the school is a nightmare of the worst kind.

I guess when the storms come thru, I will need to make a decision as to my choices and as I have often heard “Suck it up and deal”.  This does not lessen my fear.

As I was backing from under the car shed, I noticed that something was not as it was when I parked.  I thought maybe it had something to do with the very hard rain we had during the night.  I only went about 400 feet and decided I needed to get back in the yard and see what was wrong.

This is the good part—As I was backing back to the house, a young man, Travis Hern, graduated in 2005, stopped and asked if I needed help.  To my knowledge, I have never seen him until today.  I don’t know how this happened but my tire was coming off of the rim.  Travis took that tire and rim off and put on the little spare.  I have not changed a tire since I was 19, I know I could not have done it.

After the spare was put on, it is discovered that it was flat (never been used).  I called my sister-in-law’s husband asking him to please come with his air thingy and pump up the tire when he it is convenient for him.  He is over in less than 20 minutes.

YES, God is soooo very good to me.  Yesterday, I went to Myrtle beach and had no problems at all, God provided safe traveling mercies.  Today I am so close to home when something happens and God has this young man come my way.  No, I do not believe it just happened that way, it was all in God’s master plan.

God ALWAYS blesses me, some are more attention getting than others.  I have warranty on my tires so I go to Sears for the needed repairs.  It is determined that the one I want repaired cannot be repaired and the others should be replaced very soon.  Call it whatever you want but I prefer they all be purchased at the same time.  So with a bill of $735.89 (includes oil change, filters and coolant), I agree for the needed work to be done. I will put it on one of the Sears credit cards, pay it off in 6 months and have no interest.  The original tires were suppose to be good for 65,000 miles, since I had only driven 38,000, they gave me a tread adjustment.  With the adjustments and my K-Mart discount, my bill is $495.96.
