SCRUBS
Almost all medical facilities require the medical staff to wear some type of scrub or uniform. Medical scrubs are especially nice for the visitors or patients in that it is easy to recognize the staff. It also saves wear and tear on the street clothes of the staff.
All of the doctors at the facility where my surgeon practices, wear lab coats. I like this because it distinguishes them from other staff. Most of the men also wear a tie. An air of assurance not haughtiness is present at this office.
My endocrinologist never wears any type of scrub or lab coat, just nice street clothes with his sneakers. All of the staff except 2 that I have seen are always in nursing scrubs. Even the receptionists and appointment staff wear scrubs.
