CAR PARTS

Have you ever tried to rebuild an older car or wrecked yours and had to buy replacement parts?  If you have, you know that car parts can be rather spendy.  Prices also depend on the type car you have, the more expensive the car the more expensive the parts. Someone backed into my car recently and the repair was paid by his insurance. I am so glad that I did not have to pay out of pocket.

I am sure that Ferrari parts are not cheap, but if one shops around before buying them, a bargain can be found.  The Ferrari is a neat looking car.  I would be so nervous driving one because it is so far above what my budget will allow, that I may wreck it.

HOUSE GUEST

Not really, but she has been with me all week.  My granddaughter, Diva, is staying with me this week.  She is taking ‘driver’s ed’ and the convenience of staying here is too much to pass.

I stay less than a block from the school so this means she can sleep until about 30 minutes before she has to be in class.  She gets things done rather quickly so she doesn’t spend an hour getting herself ready to walk out the door.  She can usually be ready 15-20 minutes after she gets up.  She apparently is her Grandi’s child.

MOISTURE

After the storm that we had this afternoon, I may seriously need to look into purchasing a dehumidifier to place under the house.  As much water that was standing in the ditches and yard, I am sure that some was standing under the house.

I am not complaining about the rain.  Our area is so dry, we need a slow drizzling rain for about 24 hours.  The grass is dying in the yard other than where I sprayed it with ’round-up’ and I am sure it is because of the lack of moisture known as rain.

STORMY

Wow!  what a thunderstorm we had this afternoon.  Close lightening, loud thunder and rain falling heavy.  At times the rain looked as if it was falling in sheets rather than drops.  In about an hour and a half, it rained 4 1/2 inches.  Water was standing in the ditches and even under the carport.  The ground could not soak up the rain, it came down so fast and so heavy.

DD and her friend were here working on my computer and I had taken the baby girls to the optometrist in exchange for the favor.  When it would thunder really loud, they would say a giant was taking steps.  I have no idea where they heard that.   They are both afraid of the storms and that seemed to calm them.

WING TIPS

The “Wing Tips” are a local band from my hometown.  They play mostly 60′s music, some call it shag or beach music.  Three of the present band members were in the class ahead of me, one several grades ahead and one several grades below.  Saturday night they are having a reunion of the past band members.  This should be a fun time for them and those that attend.

The cost of admission is far less than concert tickets for the rich and famous. The guys in this band charge just enough to cover their expense for the night, as they do this for fun rather than support for their families.

I wish that I could go, but may need to stay home or sit with my friend “Ma”.
