LEDGERS

I have several Medical bills that I am making monthly payments.  These bills are a result of my thyroid surgery and follow-up doctor visits or lab visits checking my thyroid levels and other things that a CBC will tell the doctor.  Sometimes I ask for a VitD level check and another one but right now I can not think of it–oh– ferrion–or something like that.  Also, I have had several Cat Scans and one needle biopsy checking the tissue that was left from having a total thyroidectomy because a goiter contained cancer.

The doctor that did the surgery gave me a bit of good news in August.  As there has been no markable change in this tissue, I do not go back to him until this coming August.

What has this got to do with ledgers–in my case a lot.  I am not only fanatical about FarmVille but also what I owe.  As it it now the middle of January, it is time for me to make new ledger sheets for all of those I owe concerning my medical care.  I do this each year, bringing forward the balance due from the previous year.  Each month when I make a payment, I show the check # and the amount paid.  When I have to go to any of the medical facilities for whatever reason, I also record the charge, adding that to the last balance due, I also show the amount the insurance companies pay and the amount that cannot be charged because of what is called a PPO discount. This shows me at a glance the amount that I currently owe any of the medical providers.

Do Not get discouraged, because I am not.  As of today, I owe $22,942.10 in medical bills.  This total does not include the most recent charges of $376. that I am not sure of the amount the insurances will pay and the amount that will be the PPO discount.

Yes, I am concerned about these bills but I DO NOT worry about them.  I make payments each month and just as happened January 8, I mailed the last payment to a facility that had given me service. I will eventually get them paid off, if I live long enough.

SIMPLEX

To those that have problems with herpes simplex, it is certainly not a simple matter.  Education is the best way to have prevention.  If it is too late for prevention, you still need the education to help yourself from outbreaks and protect those that you may be or become involved with.

Often once diagnosed with herpes, a person’s self esteem is plummeted.   They need to remember they are not the first neither will they be the last.  They just need to take care of themselves and others.

BEAUTIFUL SKIN

I think most people can have beautiful skin if they have a regular skin care routine and start at a very young age. I have noticed that one of my granddaughters applies lotion quite often. I think this is good and she should continue.

I have just read arcona reviews and am not sure that all skin care regimes are what they should be. Personally, I think one should consult a dermatologist to determine what is best for them. Fair toned people would need something different than olive toned, I think. Only a trained educated professional can give the best advice.

NEW YORK

I have never been to New York and really have no desire to go.  I especially would not want to go in the winter, I might get snowed in and that would not be good.   I read that a guy and his family from my hometown were snowed in a few weeks ago.  I wonder if he stayed in several hotels in New York or only one.  I think since I was city bound, I would have tried different hotels.

I am not much on traveling and sightseeing unless it is in the Bahamas.  Our hotel the last time we went was suppose to be of higher rank than the ones before, but I could tell no difference.

SOUP

Last night for supper I made homemade soup and have so much left over that I am going to can it instead of putting it in the freezer.  I think it will keep better this way.

I had been wanting soup for a while and with the temps so low, I thought it would hit the spot and it did.  My cornbread muffins were not as good as I would have liked but were edible.  I used Jiffy mix and added a little flour.  Next time I will make my own mix from scratch.

HAPPENINGS

Not much happening around here except the past 2 weeks have been very, very, VERY cold.  Even day time temps have rarely made it into the 40′s.  It is not even 40 now, only 37 according to the computer.

I did something Monday I did not think I could do.  I worked 8 1/2 hours.  DD#1 was taking care of several sick children so I worked for her.  The pharmacy tech had called in sick and the poor pharmacist had prescriptions coming our her ears (not really) so I stayed until 7 trying to help her catch up. I then worked 5 hours yesterday.

I also had to be on FaceBook and play my FarmVille game after I got home.

FORMAL ATTIRE

I have mentioned, in previous posts, the many Christmas functions that I was a part of or wanted to be a part.  Some functions require that formal wear be worn or one cannot attend.  I am so glad that none of my functions required men’s tuxedo or evening gowns for the ladies.  My jeans were so comfortable.  I can ‘dress to the hilt’ if I need to be, but much rather wear comfortable clothing and shoes.  Yes, especially shoes.

MUSIC

I have no musical ability — NONE.  If I were to try to carry a song book, I would probably drop it.  I have friends that have unlimited ability it seems.  One plays the piano by ear, beautiful musical, and she also sings.  Her parents wanted her to have piano lessons as a young child and the instructor told them they were wasting money.  Her God given talent was so much more than the teacher could ever instruct.  She played the piano at one of my daughters wedding and also played at my mom’s funeral.

This friend’s sister, also my friend, can sing very well with never a voice lesson.  She sang at my mom’s funeral.

Like I said, I have no musical talent.  I did so badly want to take lessons for the piano when I was younger.  I would like to take now but am afraid I would not be able to remember what I was taught.

There are many ways to improve your business. A  few of these are:  dedicated employees, quick service, demand of goods on hand, business heated and cooled properly and a POS system that gives you the information needed to assure that your customers are always happy customers.

If you should decide to have a POS system installed in your business, here are some suggestions to have a smooth operating system giving you the info you want.  1) Deal with a company that will continue support after the system in installed.  2) a system that will improve your profit, ensuring sales and ordering are recorded correctly.  3) install a system that will improve the efficiency of your employees.  4) make sure the system will grow as your business grows.

PHONE CALL

My brother just called to chit-chat about our family Christmas gathering.  He did not fuss at me for preparing the peas or the pasta salad.   In fact, he said he thought they both were very good.  This family has some good cooks!

We think all that were there really enjoyed themselves and he too went home with the gift he had purchased.   Someone made the statement that maybe next year we will not play “Chinese Christmas” just show everyone what we bought for ourselves.

I do not think we will get together again until August at his beach house.  What fun we have there!
