SLEEPY

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

Oh, yes, I am so sleepy now but when I go to bed tonight I will be wide awake.  I am trying very hard to talk myself out of taking a nap.  I am finding it very hard to convince myself that I should just endure the urge for a nap.  I wonder if I were to take any medical coding training courses, I would find a code for being sleepy in the day time and wide awake at night.

CAR INSURANCE

Monday, December 28th, 2009

What a task to find adequate car insurance without being over insured and spending a fortune to be properly covered.  Several types of insurance are available:  liability, collision, comprehensive coverage, theft, and fault/no-fault.

Liability insurance is the most basic and is required in most states.  This coverage will be used to pay for any damages you may cause to another person or vehicle should you be at-fault in a traffic accident.  Your state may require a minimum amount of coverage, but more is better when it comes to protecting yourself from liability on the road.
After your auto is so many years old, most agents will recommend that you not carry collision, as it can be expensive and still not cover the replacement of your vehicle.

IN ADDITION

Monday, December 28th, 2009

There is another function that I try to attend each year in Whiteville.  I was sick this year and could not go, I really missed seeing those folks.  I only see some of them once a year at this gathering.

As sick as I was, it is a very good thing that I do not have any jobs in administration because someone else would have been called to bat. I was sick about a month.  I still am not at my best, don’t know if I will ever be considering the thyroid condition.

ONE MORE

Monday, December 28th, 2009

I have one more Christmas function and Christmas gatherings for 2009 will be over.

Our daughters and their families came over on Dec. 20th.  However, 3 of the grandchildren could not come.  Our traditional dinner is usually not one most people have.  We always have big dry lima beans cooked with ham hocks, hot sausage, mild sausage, plain rice, picnic shoulder, rice cooked in shoulder broth, potato salad, watergate salad.  Dessert varies, this year for dessert we had chocolate cake half iced with dark chocolate and the other half with milk chocolate and Georgia cornbread.  For those reading this that may be like I was and not know what Georgia cornbread is, it is a dessert filled with finely chopped pecans giving it a cornbread texture.

December 24th we always go to my husband’s baby sister’s house for pot luck supper and fellowship, then over to his mom’s for the great-grandchildren (22) to get their gifts from Granny and Granny to open hers.  All of the family did not come for various reasons. To this function, I took boxed Ranch and Bacon pasta salad, adding mushroom, olives, and more garden peas and a dish of Georgia cornbread.

The Chauncey Family (my brother, myself, nieces and nephews and my brother’s widow and her husband) will gather this Saturday, Jan. 2nd.  We will always gather the first Saturday in the new year unless it is New Year’s Day then it will be the following Saturday.  My nephew and his wife have graciously agreed to host us EVERY year.  I am so glad they are doing this.  This, too, will be pot luck.  I am taking creamed corn and watergate salad. I may decide to take another dish but have not fully made up my mind.

I am hoping to establish the Sunday afternoon before Christmas as our family gathering.  Time will tell how this turns out.

DRESS CODE

Monday, December 28th, 2009

Some businesses have a dress code that must be followed by most employees. K-Mart has a dress code that all in store employees must follow except top management. I am glad that disposable shoe covers are not a part of the dress code, wearing black shoes is enough.   Some people that work in hospitals have to wear shoe covers and some plants require them, depending on what they manufacture.

BLOGGING

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

I really need to start blogging on a more regular basis.  I have let other things interfere  with my time and my blog has not been kept up to date.   I do need to improve that, maybe tomorrow or Wednesday.

GIFT

Monday, December 14th, 2009

If my house were big enough and included a very large playroom,  I would gift us with a ping pong table. I am sure we would get lots of exercise getting the ball when it was knocked out of bounds and also bending over to pick it up.  Just a thought.  I would also like to have an exercise bike.  It would probably be used like our treadmill–another clothes rack.  What other fun games would be good exercise?

SICK of BEING SICK

Monday, December 14th, 2009

I have been sick for over a week.  I just feel bad:   my head is all stuffy, scratchy throat, cough, cough, cough!  Low grade temp most of the time.  I am ready to feel like my old self even if it is one with no energy.  I really should not be complaining because many people are so sick terminally they are wondering if they will wake in this world tomorrow or another one.

LODGING

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

There are many different types of lodging within an individual. The happy lodge, depressed lodge, sad lodge, unselfish or selfish lodge, others first lodge, hurt lodge, toleration lodge, rudeness lodge, or sometimes the most ugly of lodges–this being the lodge of ignoring.  What lodge do you most often portray?  This would be considered the keystone lodging, because it tells most about you as an individual.  Do others really know you or do you also have the lodge known as ‘hiding my true feelings’.

REPLACEMENT

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

They often say on the “Dora Explorer”  a phrase ‘Oh Man!’  That is exactly my sentiments tonight.  ‘Oh Man’ when am I going to feel better.  I have been sick for over a week, only felt half decent one day.  Like a bad light fixture, I just can’t seem to work properly.  Today I will have been on 1500mg of antibiotic a day for 7 days.  The only difference I can tell is I no longer have an ear ache.  May be that I need a drug replacement.
