the old fashioned way–on my hands and knees. This is how I scrubbed one of the bathrooms today. Believe it or not, it was easier than trying to get the mop around all the little spaces and turns. I wonder if the calories I burned were as many as diet pills that work would have burned. Nothing beats exercise and lowering calorie intake when it comes to weight loss. I just need to do the exercise!
We have really not had any damage at our place from Ida and I am thankful. Several places 30 or so miles away have flooded and roads had to be closed. Some schools were on 2-hour delays this morning. A school in a neighboring western state opened and then sent the children home an hour or so later. I wonder if they used a mass notification system to alert the parents that their children were on the way home.
We have gotten about 6 1/2 inches of rain and it is still misting.
Bullet (my dog) doesn’t like to be out in the rain and stayed in almost all day yesterday and did not want to go out early this morning but was ready a few minutes ago. When I walked in the wash room, he stood up in his crate, I opened the doors and out he went. I’ll check in a few minutes to see if he wants to come back in. His life is easy–outside in the daytime, inside at night and during bad weather.

Where does one go on vacation? If we really go on vacation, we like to go to the Bahamas. If we are just getting away for the week-end, even tho it can be a day trip, we like to go to Myrtle Beach. Some of my internet friends will book their next orlando vacations while still there enjoying themselves.
I have only been to Orlando twice and that is enough. Once to see my nephew’s wife that was dying from cancer and several years later when he remarried.
I started this crocheted dish towel while waiting in the Myrtle Beach airport on October 14. One might say that I am a slow stitcher, do other things and just stitch occasionally or make errors and have to rip out several rows and do them again. All of the above are true.
I changed the pattern, which I am known to do at times, I like my way better. The pattern called for all single crochet, I would not be finished by New Year’s if I had followed the pattern.
I did make an error that I did not rip out, I made the towel about 3 inches too long, I guess that is better than being too short. The color on the cotton thread I used just says “YELLOW”, it is a bright pretty yellow that does not show in the picture to be as pretty s it really is. I need a yellow button but could not find any that would work.
Below is a close up of the stitches for those who crochet. All is double crochet thru front or back loop until it is about 17 inches long then single crochet for about 4 or 5 inches and single crochet all around.

I really must get busy crocheting. I am planning crocheted kitchen towels as Christmas gifts to some of the folks at work. I only have about 7 weeks to make 3 sets. I would like to give more, I will have to spend less time on FaceBook playing FarmVille and more time crocheting to get them made.
It would also help my progress if I did not make mistakes and have to rip out 8 or 10 rows at one time.

Back in the middle 90′s, I lost 39 pounds in 18 months. I need to lose weight again. (why when you over eat and do not exercise, you gain weight?) I wonder if the ‘facts’ presented by thermogenic fat burner are halfway true. It may be worth a try, if they are. I find that just cutting back is a big help to lose the pounds. I think I should try that!! Maybe if I cut back enough and and over a period of time, I can again lose weight. This time I would like to lose about 35 or 40 pounds. That is a big goal but I can do it with the right mind set, even allowing myself treats in moderation. Loosing weight would also improve my health.
is a craft and hobby that I enjoy if I am in the mood. Recently, I have picked up the needle and yarn again. I am hoping to make some Christmas gifts for a few of my friends. If I succeed with this plan, I need to spend less time on the computer and more with the craft.
I usually take the current project when DH and I go anywhere. We did about 2 hour round trips for three days this week and I took it with me and made quite a bit of progress, I thought. Just before we got back into Wilmington, on the way home yesterday, I was beginning the finishing stitches and noticed that I had made a mistake about 8 rows back, so much for the progress. This type mistake was too evident to leave and continue on, so the ripping out of stitches began.
I really need to work on it some today and plan to do just that in a few more minutes, after I fold a load of laundry.
I have applied more make-up in the past year than I did in the previous 10 years. I am very unsure of myself when applying make-up. One of the reasons is I can’t see worth a diddly, even the 8X magnifying mirror does not give me the vision I need. I always feel that I have on too much or sometimes too little. One thing is for sure, with my poor eye sight, I can’t see how badly I really need eye cream. I asked my DH the other day if he was going to tell me how bad I looked. He replied “What do you mean bad”? Guess he didn’t want to upset me.
Sometimes I sleep well, but most of the time I do not. Last night was one of those times. I woke around 4 this morning and then only slept sporadically until I finally got up about 8.
I got up before that – about 7:30 to let DaBaby in when her mom dropped her off on the way to work. She went back to bed with me, she didn’t sleep long this morning either. She was up before 9.
Is Fall in the air preventing us from sleeping??? I seriously doubt it, Fall and early Spring are usually good times to sleep really well—-no need for the A/C or heat.
DH and I recently went to the Bahamas with only insurance that would reimburse us if for any reason we had to cancel our trip. Thankfully, I am glad that we did not have to collect. If we were to travel to Mexico, I would definitely obtain medical travel Mexico insurance. I have heard of so many sicknesses that one may have while visiting there. I would certainly want to have the insurance just in case.
