VACATION

I am going on a 5 day vacation!!!  Finally, after 9 years, I am going back to the Bahamas October 14.  We are leaving Wednesday morning and returning Sunday night.  DH handled all of the arrangements, checking for any travel deals he could possibly find.  I am getting pretty excited.  I am sure a lot has changed since we were last there.  I do know that the resort that we always stayed was destroyed by a hurricane and has not been rebuilt.  I had nothing to do with the planning of this trip, I am just going to enjoy it to the fullest.

ENOUGH

Everything is so expensive and getting more so every day.  Do you have enough insurance to provide for your family including paying for the educating of any children beyond high school?  It may be time to review your life insurance policies. It may be necessary to update their value if you have not done so in a while.  I am glad that I do not have to keep a check on my policies, my brother is my agent and does this for me, telling me when I need to update.

I’M BACK

My service has been down for about 2 days.  I am back, but do not know how long it will last.   Repair service is to come tomorrow, they did something in the office today.  I hope it last long enough for me to waste time playing Farmville.

SLEEPY

How does one avoid being sleepy?  Well, of course, the answer is get adequate sleep.  Now the question is “How?”.  I have counted sheep, stayed up much too late, and have on occasion tried the best sleeping pill. It really does not matter what I try, I still and almost always have problems sleeping. I am blaming my inability to sleep well and my weight gain on my thyroid condition.

My brother tells me if I did not have a guilty conscience, I would not have a problem sleeping.  Do you have any suggestions for me?

NO EASY WAY

I wish that I knew an easy way to solve this problem.  If I did, some of my other problems would be solved also.  It is a fact, there is NO easy way to lose belly fat. I and many others wish we could snap our fingers and the belly fat be gone and stay gone. It has been proven the only way to rid oneself of this fat is diet and exercise.

HOME BODY

Yes, I am a home body.  As you can see from this map, I have been in very few states.  Some of the ones I have been in, I was only driving thru.

I live in North Carolina, have been to Myrtle Beach, SC numerous times.  I visited in Georgia many, many years ago and have driven thru it 3 times and 1 of those times spent the night.  I have been to Florida only twice, each time visiting with my nephew.

I drove to Farmersville, Texas about 7 or 8 years ago.  That was a really fun trip.  The age gap of those traveling with me was wide.  My grandson was about 7 months old and my mom was 90.  I am serious when I say it was fun.  I did enjoy it.  During the drive to Texas, we spent nights in Augusta, Georgia, and Clinton, Mississippi.  Coming back home, we had to spend 3 nights because one night it was really foggy, we did overnights in Shreveport, Louisiana, Darlington, SC, and I cannot remember the other place.

I was surprised and pleased with how well the children did.  Traveling with 5 children, aged infant to 8 1/2  years could be very stressful, but this trip was not.  I stopped about every three hours for bathroom breaks and just to stretch for a few minutes.  This trip was probably a lot easier than it would be today, since they each have developed an attitude of I want to do things this or that way. I guess one might say it is all about control.  All those that made the road trip, have flown round trip to Dallas.  I drove from the Dallas-Fort Worth airport to Farmersville.

I have flown to and from Colorado and Missouri several times when DD#1 lived in Colorado and Kansas.  DD#1 always picked me up at the Kansas City airport in Missouri when I visited in Kansas.   When flying to Colorado, I would sometimes rent a vehicle and drive from the Denver airport to Colorado Springs.

The next planned trip is back to the Bahamas and that will be very soon.  I am getting excited.

WALKING for the CURE

I have a friend that I only know thru her blog and twitter.  Because of what she is doing, I know that she has a concern for others.

Laura-Pooh lives in Frisco, Texas and will be walking in the 2010 Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure that will be in Dallas.  She says that walking is the easy part, raising the 2300 dollars needed to participate is the hard part.  I am asking my readers, if you could possibly help her, please go to this link and donate which is also helping the cause.   There is no required amount, just what you feel you can afford from $1.00 on up.

Just so you know, NET proceeds from the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure™ are invested in breast cancer research and community programs.

TOO MUCH WORK

DH has worked too many hours recently.  He worked 175 hours OT from 7am August 3 until 5:30pm on August 28.  This is just too much work for anyone, especially after one has passed the half century mark.  I was beginning to wish I could find a rest mount so that he would be able to get the rest he needed.  He did not need any plasma mounts, just a week of rest to recoup.  He did not get that either.

EDUCATION

Not everyone can just quit their jobs to advance their eduction at an on-site campus.  Others may just prefer to keep working and study in the comfort of their own home.

Online masters degree can easily be obtained thru the studies at Gonzaga.  This western university is ranked #3 in a report given by US News and World.

Not many topped rank schools offer master degrees online.  Gonzaga not only offers masters degrees on line, but is ranked one of the nations best universities and considering it is a private university also has a great value.

Select the subject for your online masters degree at Gonzala, continue in studied profession and advance your education at the same time.

TIME FLIES

Yes, it seems time flies when one gets older or is having fun.  I started blogging in August 2006.  That seems so long ago.

My blogging has gained me quite a few internet friends, 2 I have met and others I just keep up with by reading and commenting on their blogs.  I still read the blogs of those I have met.  Some are even my friends on Facebook.  I do not have many friends there, as it is hard to keep up with everyone.

I may have made a few enemies along the way, but it was unintentional.

I also have made a few $$ blogging, not nearly as much as I would like to make, but that is the way it goes when one does not have a high rate of traffic.  When we kept a paper diary as teenagers, we wanted NO one to read it, but now our on-line diary, we want everyone to read.

I enjoy blogging.  Sometimes it is a relief valve and other times it is a record of what I have done or plan to do.

Sometimes I will read what others have posted and it will be my lift for the day or it will make me sad, but that is the way life is to be.  That is the reason for comments–to let others know you enjoyed their post or to give them encouragement.
