FINALLY BAGGED

I have been telling myself and a few others I needed to bag the colored butterbeans that DH and I shelled and prepared for freezing yesterday.  I finally got the job done.

Those 16-17 pounds of beans yielded 9 pints.



I am so very pleased with the quantity from these and the green ones that I got from my cousin.  I am hoping that I can get more of each.  If I can’t, what I have is better than none.

I told the guy I bought the colored beans from that I wanted 2 bushels Thursday.  I will have to call him and tell him that I can not get them.  I have a doctor’s appointment scheduled at 8:45.  I can’t get to Whiteville and back before my appointment and I can’t get there and back after it to be here to watch the grandchildren when they are to come over.

I have another source for Thursday hopefully.  It is local.

BLOG your BLESSING 7-12-09

I do not post regularly here, not that I do not have daily blessings, sometimes it is just hard to express myself.

I have heard this expression all my life:  “God takes care of drunks and fools.”

Friday night I went to the local Wal-mart and shopped too long and it was dark before I left.  I had put a card (in store credit) in my pocket worth $46.82.  I put the receipt for my purchase as I was walking away from the register in my pocket.  Apparently, as I took my hand out of the pocket, the card fell out.  At the door, I stopped to get everything ready to get gas, no card!!  I went thru my pockets again, checked my bags, and checked my wallet,  still no card.  As I looked up in desperation, I saw something on the floor a few feet from the register that I had used.  I walked over and there lay my card.  Thank You, Jesus!!

The fool part is:  I never should have put the card in my pocket but kept it in my wallet.  Someone else could have easily found the card and used it.
