6-1-09 PICKINGS
We picked, gathered, or whatever you may deem as the correct term, 21 squash late Monday afternoon. I took DD#1 15 of them and I kept 6. I prepared 4 last night and have enough left for tonight.
The aphids are really bad. I bought a new sprayer (the old one has weed killer in it) and “TripleAction” poison yesterday. DH will spray the squash and anything else that has destroying insects on it.
Japanese beetles almost destroy the blooms each year of the double Althea. Hopefully this year, that can be prevented.
