Everyone else was either napping or doing corrections on their school work.
I do not teach, only check what they have been instructed to do. The poor children will hate me as a checker. If I can’t read the material, then it is wrong. If I have to guess what a number is, then it is wrong.
I was sure that I would have squash from the backyard by now, but not so. The bush size is amazing. They are as big as Mother use to have in her garden.
We have had temps in the low 50′s at night for the past week and squash like it hot!! Maybe soon I can gather enough to eat.
We also had some strong winds that damaged the leaves.
Some of them may be on the bush so long that even tho immature, will be tough. I surely hope not, I am so ready for some fresh squash.
I am reaching my goal of credit card freedom. I paid off another card this morning. I have paid off 2 cards this month, Sears and Sams. I still may be able to pay off one of the American Express Cards this month. If not this month, then surely I will pay it off in June.
Wow! then I will only have 2 American Express cards to pay on and the one that is financing my hearing aids. The contract on the hearing aids is for 60 months with no penalty for early pay off and interest is accrued on balance not total financed.
If all goes well and I stay on tract, I still think I can be debt free in 4 years with the exception of my medical bills. It seems that Jenn and myself have the same goal. “Get out of Debt”
My objective is first to pay off bills charging interest then concentrate on the medical bills. I make payments to 7 different medical facilities each month. I will have 2 of those paid off in 9 months.
I know that all of you are really interested in my financial business.
Home Schooling is not an easy task. I only assist the kids by making them think thru and then check their work after it is done. Some days it is much easier than others. Today has not been an easy day. All of the boys needed some assistance with their math today and I surely could not glance at it and see the answers. I had to think it thru even for the 1st grader and used the calculator when checking the older boys work. Most days it is really hard to get one of them to apply himself and go ahead and do his work, but finally he finished. Today I had to threaten 2 of them by telling them if they did not get their work done, they could not go with their dad when he came to pick them up.
Hearing is so very expensive. I would pass it by, if it were a luxury. I told DH the first night I had them, that I did not want to go back to the state of not hearing well. It is so nice to be able to hear sounds that I have not heard in years.
What is not nice is the cost!!! I got the cheapest available, that would amplify all of the sounds I was missing. Because they are the cheapest does not mean they are not the best suited for me.

It is a good thing that I do not care if folks see that I am wearing a hearing aid. I can HEAR and that is the important thing to me.
Oh, the pair of aids was $4790. That price is less $1000. discount, so they told me.
Anyway, so much for getting out of debt. I did pay off a card this morning, that is another post.
Some things are just not necessary. Such as the lingerie that leaves very little for the imagination. Even some of the clothes today show more than some lingerie does. I am speaking of what some women wear. Blouses that are cut so low that all cleavage is exposed and maybe even the belly button. Also pants that are so tight that they wrinkle, and if panties are worn, the imprint of them can be seen. In cases like these, one surely does not need any sexy bride lingerie to show what they do or do not have.
Yesterday and last night we received 3.9 inches of rain. Most of it fell between the hours of 4 and 9. It came down at times almost like rain from a hurricane. If the rain continues at this fast rate, I may need to consider cheap term life insurance. Seriously, the rain is good because we are still at a deficit here. I have always heard that a slow drizzling rain is better than a hard downpour. I guess we should be thankful for any rainfall that we get.
I have NO will power when it comes to dieting. About 15 years ago, I lost 25 pounds slowly. It took almost 18months, but I did it. I went from a size L back to an XS and S. Now I have gained back to the original weight I was when I started dieting. For some reason, I can wear a medium in most of my clothes. I probably need at least a 12 month supply of weight loss pills. I would also have to exercise, I really need to do this for health reasons, but now it seems I hardly have time to breath after all the eating I do. I find that my cooking continues to improve and the food is good that I prepare.
I am so glad to see the rain. The children have to stay inside but that is ok considering how much better the rain water is for our veggies and flowers than well water. This may mean squash real soon, sooner than I thought.
This rain is really good for the flowers I planted yesterday.
Monday we received 6 tenths and so far today 9 tenths. The weather forecasts is ‘scattered thunderstorms’ for the next 10 days.
DH set 3 cuke plants in the rose bed Tuesday and at least 1 of them is looking much better. Two on the backside of the yard look better, I think. I really can’t tell for sure looking thru the window.
Oh Yes!! I am getting there. Slowly, sometimes very slowly, but surely the credit cards are being paid off. I paid off one in April and made a post that I hopefully could pay off at least 3 more in May or June.
My part of Sears has been paid off. The first Saturday in May, DD#1 charged a lawn mower, with my permission. The deal is no payments and no interest until May, 2010. Basically I can say this credit card is paid off. That would be 1 down and 2 to go. When I get the Sams statement this month, I will pay it off. I plan to pay off one of the American Express cards in June. That will leave me with 2 American Express cards, hoping to have one of them paid off by June, 2010.
Hopefully, I can soon start applying more of the rent income to the larger balance of American Express. My goal is to be debt free in 4 years. That sounds like an awfully long time, but I did not get this mountain of debt over night. I started this getting in debt process years ago by very poor money management, lack of self control and a few emergencies.
I must say that I am in the tunnel and will soon be able to see the light at the end.
