Much to my disappointment, our jewelry making did not lead to getting rich fast. While I did enjoy making it, that hobby has been put on hold until I finish the kitchen decorating and get the dungeon acceptable. We did not have to purchase any credit card machines to handle the business transactions as they were either cash or check. Oh well, another day is coming and maybe business will be better then, if the economy improves. Oops, need to stop now before I start ranting.
I think I may have been replaced by a new, better, and faster model. DD#1 started working in the pharmacy Tuesday to be trained as a back-up. We went in at 9, I had a doctor’s appointment and left about 10:45. When I left she was working independently, pulling and counting the drugs to be dispensed, getting the drugs for the customers that had already been counted and checked by the pharmacist and using the cash register. Of course, she still had ??, but was basically working on her own. I have been working in the pharmacy a long time and I still have ??.
She was doing so well, that the pharmacist asked that she work today and Friday instead of the person that was scheduled.
Normally, she will not work 8 hour days, only4-5 hours, so she can still home-school. Neither will she work every day, in fact, she is only scheduled 3 days next week, about 12-14 hours. I am usually scheduled the first Saturday of the month, but she is. That is fine with me.
Now I need to get up and do more in the dungeon. Soon, Soon, it will be done!!
Looking at the clock thinking ‘I better get up and get at it’. What needs to be done will not get done, if I do not do it. It is my mess and I must be the one to unmess it. Is “unmess” a word??? oh well, it is now.
I can’t find the vinyl place mats like I want for the apple theme in the kitchen and for the dining table. As the saying goes, “never give up”, I did not give up, I just changed my course of action. I have been looking at cloth options instead of vinyl. Yesterday I think I found the material that will be used.
What do you think of this?? Yes, I want your comments, that is why I am asking.
The background is not white but a very,very pale beige, maybe almond or ivory.
This is a little busy, but looks nice on the table. I looked at one fabric that was so busy with bright red tiny apples, I knew it would never work. This fabric is even on sale now.
Sometimes I feel as if I need a lift, especially if I have gottten on my knees for any reason. Seriously there are many types of lifts, lifts attached to vans to provide easy access for those in wheelchairs, lifts that are used to get the very disabled in and out of bed. A forklift is used to lift heavy materials or several items placed on a pallet. Sometimes a pallet jack is used for the pallets, but it is still a type of lift.
Also there are car lifts which make working on the underside of one’s car so much easier. Every time my DH changes the oil in our vehicles, I wish there was an easier way for him to do it. If he had space and had a lift, that would certainly be easier than jacking up one side of the car and lying on the ground to disengage the oil plug; and whatever else is involved underneath the car when changing the oil.
I did work today and it was a day not to be soon forgotten. The pharmacist was quite elderly and works in several gears slower than my slowest. We really were not that busy, but it seemed as if we were. A lady called about 12 checking on a prescription and he did not even start working on it until after 2.
Give credit where credit is due. He was very thorough and made sure that everything was done by the book. Everything always is, but it was just interesting to see that it was done step by step not 2 or 3 things at once.
Another day another penny.
My finances are looking a little better. As of yet, they are definitely not where I would like for them to be, but that will come. I do not manage my time or money very well, but am very hopeful and see no reason why I cannot have 3 credit cards paid off by October if not before. I should have another one cut way down.
Maybe if during my working career, I had had jobs in finance, I would have managed my own money better.
I know what I should do!, make a budget and stick to it. I keep track of the amount I owe and the amount I pay each creditor per month, but it really is not a budget.
Have you ever heard or used that expression? A part-time replacement for the pharmacy tech is needed. She goes on vacation Monday. Has anyone been hired? Yes and No. Interview was done on the 9th, person was hired contingent on background check. Very few firms are hiring, background check should be done fairly fast. Person may be called in today to do paperwork. Yes, someone has been dragging their feet getting this position filled. Vacation was scheduled the first part of January.
I am scheduled to work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I only count medication and work the registar. I can do none of the computer detail that the pharmacy tech does. I have a doctor’s appointment on Tuesday—Yes, I am keeping my appointment.
In addition to not being computer helpful, standing for 3 days, 8 hours per day will be painful for me.
Have you ever been to the outermost east coast in NC for a vacation? “No”, you say. Try it, there are lots of things to do at our beaches and quite a few historic places to visit. On your way, you could stop in New Bern and visit Tryon Palace or go to Kitty Hawk and visit where the Wright Brothers first flew. You have no where planned to stay? Problem solved — Outer Banks rentals — will find the perfect place for you. Have Fun!!
I have so much work to be done in this house! What am I doing? At the moment, I am sitting here trying to make a little money. Well, duh, it does take money to redecorate. I will soon be up and about doing more in the bedroom that used to be Mother’s. It is really taking shape and looking much better. I have made several trips to the trash bin and 2 to good will, I also have a box of stuff for someone that I was told may like to have such and such. I just keep adding to that box.
I will not get much done tomorrow as I have to work in the pharmacy.
