PEAS PEAS PEAS

Friday, July 25th, 2008

I have not posted about all the peas.  Just by driving around looking for a particular roadside stand, I found PEAS at another stand.  DD and I have shelled 4 bushels of peas.  We have eaten fresh peas and has her family.  I have frozen 41 pints and probably have about 10 or 12 pints ready to bag and freeze.  Those of you familiar with the different varieties, these are the Dixie Lee.  I am off Tuesday and am still searching for butter beans but will get more peas if I can’t find the beans.

ROOF not FENCE

Friday, July 25th, 2008

DH and I did quite a bit of yard work at Mother’s house this spring. There is still a lot that needs to be done, maybe we can do more this fall. The roof really needs some serious repair in one spot, but I am having difficulty finding someone to do it, since I need to be there when it is done. I am glad that we do not have to be responsible for fence installation, because that can also be expensive.

CORN and PEAS

Friday, July 25th, 2008

I am not a good cook, but the food that I have cooked over the last month has been good. Not only do I think so but apparently DH does also, because we have very few left overs. I know that if one is trying to lose weight, they should only have small servings of the chosen foods. I have found this to be quite difficult of late—think here of fresh corn and fresh peas. If I continue eating too much, I may be forced to try weight loss pills.

CRAFT CLUB 7-25-08

Some think that 3 tries and you are out—–usually my third attempt at making an afghan is the pattern that I will finish. I do not do swatches (one day I may learn I need to do this) so I have the trial and error method. My problem is getting the pattern in the right color combination order. Hopefully, next week I can show you in pics what I mean by this.

This are the color choices that I will be using to make Prissy’s afghan.dscf1033.JPG

I went over yesterday to show DD the way it was being done and Prissy saw just the yarn and said ” Is that for me, I want that blanket”.

Visit Here and let us see your craft.
