BLUEBERRY-GRAPE-ANTIOXIDANT
I do not think I have ever seen as many blueberries on bushes as are at Mother’s this year. (Even tho Mother is deceased, I will probably always refer to her house and yard as Mother’s.) They should be ripe next month. They have started changing color so it should not be much longer. The berries are hanging in clusters like grapes. See—
Yum! Yum! I can smell and taste the simple but delicious cobbler in my mind. It is very simple and easy to make. Try it.
BERRY or FRUIT COBBLER
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour (self-rising)
1 cup milk or water
2 cups berries or fruit
1/2 stick oleo or butter (melt in 8 x8 glass baking dish) or 1/4 cup oil
Mix together flour and sugar, add milk and berries, stirring until well
blended and flour is moistened. If using oil pour in 8×8 baking dish,
pour berry mixture over your choice of last ingredient and bake @ 350
45 to 50 minutes.
This simple recipe can be used with fruit and other berries. I am not sure how pineapple and strawberries may taste. Mango cobbler is very good!
