PEST CONTROL
Pest are such a nuisance, especially if they are creepy, crawly and destructive. My mom’s house was invaded with termites a few years ago, and we have to pay to have it checked and treated quarterly. Termites can destroy a dwelling if they are not terminated.
I have a problem with tiny, tiny black ants and fire ants on the east coast. Sometimes a larger black ant will come to visit, but they are easily discouraged from being regular visitors.
The tiny, tiny black ant I see may be the carpenter ant, but I really do not think that it is. I see no damage of any wood that would lead me to believe that it is the carpenter ant.
Here you see the picture of a type of moisture ant. They prefer water damaged, rotting wood. Recognizing wood that has been damaged by moisture ants sometimes may take a professional, but it has a cardboard like appearance.
The carpenter ant or moisture ant can quickly cause extensive damage and weaken wooden structures. Termites can cause the same type problem so if you live on the west coast, contact a branch of the Washington, Seattle, or Portland Pest Control services and have them inspect your home and keep it treated to prevent any or further damage. Paying an exterminator is certainly cheaper than building a new house that has been destroyed by pest.
