I found the caplet that I need to finish for DGD#2. It is amazing what will be found when one tidies and puts things away. Now all I need to do is count the stitches and determine how many I need to decrease so that it will lay smooth across her back. I sure hope I do not have to do the “RIP” thing.

I have been gone all day and here I sit in front of the computer as if I have nothing else to do.  There are many other things that I need to be doing.   I need to get my bath and my clothes ready for work tomorrow, I have laundry that needs to be folded and put away.   I need to clean the top of the stove and make some tea.  I want to sit in the living room with DH for a little while. I also want to work some more on that granny square and hopefully get it completed in the next couple of days.

I have misplaced the caplet that I am to finish for DGD#2, hopefully I left it at her house (need to to call and find out).

I also have one more post that I need to get done tonight.

I had the alarm set for 7:30 this morning, when it sounded I cut it off and lay there thinking what am I going to wear to church. Nothing came to mind as my spring and summer dress wardrobe is almost non existent. When I got up, I asked DH if he would take me shopping and he said let’s go.

We take a little road trip down south and guess what folks—I do not find dress one that I can wear or that is suitable. I need a little jacket with my dresses because the church is always so cold. I guess that is what I get for skipping church to go shopping. I guess I will now try locally to find me something suitable for church wear.

I did find 3 pair of nice dress shoes, a shirt with matching clam digger pants and a shirt and matching long pants, both in nice summer material. I also found myself 3 gowns and a summer housecoat and my MIL a summer housecoat made similar to the winter one I gave her and a pretty summer gown. I hope she likes them. Oh, let’s not forget the bra, 3 packages of hose and 2 pairs of black work pants.

DH only got one pair of jeans. He was going to get 2 but they only had one in his size.

I did get 7 rounds done in the granny square I am working on. I am not really that slow, I did do a little site seeing on the trip.

Truly, I do love to eat. Food is just so good that I can eat even if I am not hungry and apparently I have done too much of that since I quit smoking and my thyroid became under-active making my metabolism slow down. What I am trying to say is, “if I do not get a grip on my eating habits, I will soon be too large even for plus size clothing“, then what will I do. While moo-moos are comfortable, I do not wish to wear them all of the time.  Neither is it healthy for me to be this much overweight.

Some minor work needs to be done at Mother’s house. Probably everything that needs to be done could be done in less than a day but this does not include trimming the shrubbery and cutting dead limbs from the oak trees. I am glad that the fiberglass columns on the front porch do not need to be replaced because that is a little more money than I am ready to spend right now.

My sister-in-law is a very busy and successful Realtor. Her phone rings constantly because of recommendations to others from her previous clients. It does not matter to her if you are buying or selling, she will always do her part to make your transaction the best for you. If you are in the market for Wilmington real estate, contact her. She has won numerous awards in the real estate field, (local, state, region, and national) which is proof she knows her job and does it well.

I reported last week that I would make one more baby doll blanket using the size ‘K’ hook. This is not gonna happen. I have less than 2 sides to go and this blanket will be finished and I am not very happy with it, so I will be going back to the ‘J’ hook for the the next one. I have 2 more to make for granddaughters of cousins and I should be finished unless I make doll blankets for my 2 small granddaughters.

My next project will be to complete a caplet that I started for Mother and did not finish in time. I took it over today and asked DGD #2 if she would like for me to finish it for her. She first said ‘no’ and when I told her the length would be at the bend in her arm she then said ‘ok’. Maybe you will get a pic of it next week.

Mother always called this little bluish-purple flower a ‘wood hyacinth’. I have no idea what the correct name is or even if Mother named it correctly. It is a member of the lily family (according to Mr. Webster) and has tiny bulbs.

If you can identify it, please let me know.

dscf0606.JPGThis is the first bloom of my Irises this season. I have several different colors planted along the edge of the back deck in front of the varieties of daffodil bulbs. Or depending where you are standing they may be in back of the bulbs.

Will post more as they bloom.

I am very easily frightened by strange or unexpected noises, by going around a corner and someone being there or especially by my DH while I am engrossed in a movie and he slips in the room and says something or touches me.  Another thing that frightens me is the unexpected noise that some air tools make.  I guess I am just what some call a ‘scardy cat’.  What are some of the things that frighten you?
