After DH got home from the doctor and his other business today, he drove me to Mother’s. I bagged and priced some of her Christmas stuff and some Christmas craft supplies that I have had for years. I also washed, dried and folded three sets of sheets and 2 mattress pads. One set of the sheets is showing a little wear but the other 2 sets are almost brand new and go with matching comforters and bed skirts. I also washed some of my china that has been boxed away since 1965.

The tortoise was slow but steady and finished the race so I have hopes that I will also. There is still so much to be done. I really did not think that it would be this time consuming, but that is ok, when it is finished, it will be done. I plan to go back Sunday afternoon and do a little more, maybe I can get the china finished and repacked. I am hoping that I can sell it.

I have to find out how to make the walls all one color. The living room (family room) is very pretty paneling but where pictures have hung for years is a different color. I guess a good type wood polish and elbow grease will solve the problem.

I asked DH on the way home if he had a very boring afternoon and he said ‘no’. He wandered around outside, said he found a bunch of junk and watched TV.

If I ever get finished with Mother’s house, I will need not one, but several luxury vacations. Where would I like to go you may ask? No where very far away. Let’s start with a week at Myrtle Beach, then maybe 3 or 4 days at Carowinds, last but not least a week in the Bahamas. My brother is in Nassau now, but I would like to go back to Freeport. I do not have to go any of the places mentioned to feel that I have had a vacation of luxury as long as DH is with me.

I do enjoy good fish. I had much rather have the fish satisfy my hunger than me feed the fish. I enjoy eating croaker, catfish, flounder, spots and whiting. The only fresh water fish I like is the catfish. I also like canned salmon cooked with eggs and served over rice. Wow! I just finished eating and could eat a good piece of fish now. I do not like fish served on a buffet, I prefer to go to a seafood restaurant and order them from the menu.

Now to the topic of this post: There are many ways to feed fish, beginning with the type fish one may have. Some fish food is made for only particular species of fish while other fish foods may be for several species. One must select the correct food for the type fish in the aquarium to promote the best of health. Visit to see a great selection of fish food varieties by either brand or type. Here you can also find the best feeding process on just a regular small aquarium, huge aquarium or even just a tiny bowl with goldfish in it.

Also, they have feeders that will save you the hassle of having to feed your fish everyday, they offer 3-day and 7-day feeds. Here you can also get the supplies needed to test your aquarium water for the correct levels of minerals, maintenance items, anything that may be need for your aquarium including ornaments. Everything is here one may need to start the relaxing activity of fish watching except the fish.

I have not worked a lot on the baby blanket since December 28th, but a tiny bit of progress has been made. If I had spent all of my crocheting time on it, I could probably be close to gifting it now. But sometimes one has to put one project aside and concentrate on another and that is what I felt I needed to do. Check out my entires in the Craft Club catagory and you will see what I did.

Anyway this is how Cooper’s blanket looks today all 16 inches of it lengthwise. Only about 25 or 26 more inches to go and it will be finished, maybe by high school graduation instead of college.

My husband has mentioned that he would like to have a big screen attached to the wall. In my lack of knowledge, I asked how he would attach it. He said easy they make special mounts for this very thing. I guess he was referring to a plasma tv mount, but how was I to know this? I do not know any mechanics except how to turn the TV on, change the channel and turn it off. I even have difficulty playing the DVD player.

Going to work today is not a joy!  I have to work until 4:30 in the layaway department, which means if I am not working with a customer, I have to go wherever and do whatever.   This irritates me because so much is needed to be done in layaway to get it clean,  I bet the upstairs floor has not been swept in 3 years.  Old ad signs and other junk needs to be removed.

I think I am the only one that has a conscientious desire to do the job correctly other than just get it done.  Storage is still a major problem, as people just do not want to walk upstairs.

Oh well, I just need to drink my coffee, get ready and let the day take care of itself.

Oh so very slowly, I am getting things in order for the estate sale at Mother’s.  I am hoping that Friday I will be able to get almost all of the kitchen done.  If I finish the kitchen, then only odds and ends will need to be done and everything priced.  I have told someone that it will be ready to rent the first of April.

Depending on exactly how much I get done Friday, I may ask for vacation time during the week ending on the 22nd and have the sale that day.

If you live near a mash or a lot of vegetation, you may want to seriously consider buying one or two methane gas detectors. They could possibly even save your life. In case you do not know, ‘methane’ is a colorless, odorless, flammable gas formed by the decomposition of vegetable matter. Can you imagine going outdoors for an activity that involves a small fire and ending up with the entire area on fire.

How many hours do we spend on the computer or how many gallons of gas do we waste trying to find the best buy on any given item? After several attempts of this, we should know to automatically venture over to to find the best buy on any item that we may need or want. I have wasted a lot of time and gas going from place to place looking for the perfect whatever at the very best price. DH will not buy an item unless he thinks it is the best buy.

This was taken on 2-15-08. A little weeding needs to be done, but thanks to the mulch supplied by the neighbor it is a minimum amount this year. All bulbs of this type, amaryllis, bearded iris, spider mums, peonies and roses are my favorite flowers. If it was known as a flower, Mother liked it. I have a cousin the same way, but I just do not care for all those bushes and such.

It is kinda cool here today.

I will try to post as my favorites bloom.
