Do you remember the commercial from years gone by with fellows riding in a black limo and one says to the other pass the grey poupon or maybe they are riding in limos side by side? My deceased brother could at the time imitate this fellow to perfection and I now never hear the words ‘grey poupon’ that I do not think about my brother.
Now to the real issue–the mustard. I received 2 different jars of Grey Poupon and was asked to give an honest opinion of them after a taste test. Not a hard task to do. The ‘hearty spicy brown’ mustard was delicious. I ate it with a sausage sandwich. It was really good and added even more taste to the sausage. I know it will be even better on a roast beef or roast pork sandwich or even a deli ham sandwich. I found that this mustard just seemed to add to the natural flavors and I think it would go well with any meat sandwich.
The ‘harvest coarse ground’ mustard was too spicy and strong for me. I did not care for it with the sausage. (I need to grocery shop.) I may find that I like it if I were to try it with a different meat and I will do so in the near future. I really think that it will still be too spicy, but do want to try it again.
The ‘hearty spicy brown’ is a definite buy and will go in my shopping buggy when I need to purchase mustard again.
