STILL SHOPPING ???

Hopefully I am thru shopping but have not made my final check. This will be done tomorrow afternoon after I get home from church. That is if I feel well enough to go to church.

It is always important for me to go to church but I especially need to go tomorrow. The sooner that I am embraced by church fellowship and receive their condolences on Mother’s dying, the better I will be. I know from Mother having a brother buried on Christmas Eve and then we opening presents afterwards, that she would want me to continue on with my life as normal as possible. I can almost hear her saying “Do what you would do if I were still living or what you would do had I died in the summer years ago. Do not put your life on hold because of me.”

NOT the USUAL CLASSROOM

I have learned quite a bit online but never by the way of an accredited online university. Capella University is the first and currently the only online university that is the latest focus of ‘Inside Online Education’ podcast by CACREP. In November of this year, Capella University released a podcast featuring a conversation with Dr. Chris Cassirer regarding accreditation from CACREP for two master’s degree specializations.

These podcasts are regularly featured interviews with Capella students, faculty and staff sharing their experience of an online education from the first person view. These podcasts are about 15 minutes long and listeners can subscribe to the podcast at http://www.capellacommons.com/rss or a subscription is available from iTunes.

Capella university was founded in 1993 and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Capella commits to providing high academic excellence.

The CHORE has BEGUN

The chore of all chores—the chore even worse than washing dishes by hand or cleaning out the fridge, this chore ranks down the list with the most despised chores, it may be even worse than scrubbing the toilet. What chore ? What chore, you are asking, could be this bad. Maybe it is only bad for me. I am glad that it only comes once a year. I do NOT like wrapping Christmas gifts. I have never liked to wrap gifts. It could be because I like buying for others and keep buying long after I should stop. Naw, that’s not it! Just plain and simple I do NOT like to wrap gifts.

Is this a chore that you enjoy or like me, wish the gifts could be left in the shopping bags and pulled out and gifted to the person.

That is an idea, just put everything under the tree unwrapped and when it is gift giving time, pick up a gift, call a name, and say ‘this is yours’. DH would never agree to that, but over 100 gifts is just tooooooo many!!!!!!!!

NOT CHEAP

A trip to the doctor can almost pay a utility bill. I am thinking here of the electric bill when the weather does not require cooling or heat. I decided I needed to go see the doctor with this sinus mess I have. Well, he has diagnosed bronchitis but I do not have all of those symptoms yet. But he also mentioned a viral infection. Anyway $85 for about 15 minutes is a little pricey and the meds were $31.68.

The goal here is for me to feel better fast. Sure hope so, as I have many thank you notes to send and gifts to wrap and a little cooking to do. Not big on the cooking, simple is the way to go.

I am sleepy now so a nap is definitely in the order of things to be done. Off to sleep land I go.

CHRISTMAS GOODIES

One of the fortunes that I have in life cannot be valued monetarily. I have several very best friends. Yes, one can have very best friends instead of best friend. One of them still resides in our home town. When Mother passed away, she immediately sent her husband to the house with a plate full of her Christmas baked goodies. We did not let them go to waste. As a part of her Christmas gift to me, she gave me another plate full of baked goodies. Also  a tin of spicy cheese biscuits. I have not opened those yet. I am sure that when I finish those goodies I will need to partake of diet pills for a few months and if the tradition continues, the pills may be a part of my new year for many years.

ON HIS LIST

DH named several things that he would like to have, most of which are beyond my budget. One of the items he would like to have is a large screen wall mounted TV. Not thinking, I asked how in the world would he mount it to the wall. He calmly replied, dummy, I would use a tv mount to do the job. No, he may have thought it, he did not call me a dummy.

HEALTH ISSUES

Many people have severe health issues that require that some type of medical id be worn so that if for any reason the person is not responsive the correct medical attention is given. Can you imagine the dilemmas that could be avoided if those effected were to wear a necklace or bracelet that would alert medical personnel of major problems.  Possibly lives could be saved or the correct amount of medication be given rather than a type of experiment to see what and how much is needed.

FOOD ADDICTION

I had a dangerous addiction once, but 4 years ago I gave up nicotine. I am not convinced that I did not receive permanent breathing damage from the many years that I did smoke. However my new addiction of food does not require addiction treatment but self discipline, which right now I am lacking.  Maybe in the months to come, I will be able to better control the movement of my elbow bending and my hand going to my mouth carrying food.

BY MY SIDE

From the time I married this great guy, whatever I felt I needed to do to help my parents, he always supported my decision. I was so sure and confident of his feelings, that when the doctor told my brother and myself Mother could no longer stay alone, without any hesitation, I said she would move in with us. I never had to worry that he may be somewhere playing Mizuno golf when I would need him the most.  He was at work when I called to tell him that Mother had died and immediately he asked if I was ok.  I assured him that I was, so after working 16 hours, he was in bed asleep when I got home and that was fine with me because we had each done what needed to be done—take care of Mother while she lived.  He knew from the tone of my voice that I really was ok and he needed to do just what he did.

GLAD THIS WAS NOT YESTERDAY

I do not feel well.  Sinus–Sinus–Sinus.  I have not felt my best for a few days, but today is the worst.  I am sore from coughing, my throat is a little sore plus still scratchy and I have a very low grade temp.   I threatened to go to the doctor when I got up this morning.  If I still feel this bad tomorrow, I will call and be a work-in.
