Mother was asleep today but has been every time I have been since the 24th of November. I keep telling myself that this is ok. At least the facility workers had put her in a different position. It is so very depressing to visit her and she just lay there asleep. Mother used to be such an active person, always taking care of others before herself. Maybe tomorrow will be different.

Received a call from my surgeon last Wednesday (Nov.28) and he said “no surgery”. After comparing CT scans made in April and November, it was determined that the the thyroid tissue had shrunk about 40%. I am to see him again March 5 for another ultrasound of my throat and proceed from there.
I sure am glad that I do not have to face another expensive surgery now and maybe not even in the future. The only draw back is having to work in lay-a-way during the busiest time of the year, but that is a small price to pay.
