VERY TASTY

This is a cake Diva made and decorated. She is quite the dessert maker. It is really good.

Why is a pic of her cake on my blog you may ask. I have been asking DD to fix some things on my blog and today she did one of them. She posted this picture (nothing but the pic) as her way of letting me know that I can now post pics that I take.

I can now participate in the craft thingy on Friday’s some weeks and can show you my dog and other neat stuff. I have a pic of Drama making a freaky face, that I think is hilarious. Oh, just lots of stuff. I probably will not post many pics and then again I may, I at least now have the capability to do so. Thanks DD!!

2 + 7 = 9 means FOOD

As each day goes by, I am getting more excited about the grandchildren coming while their mom goes to Las Vegas. The only problem that I anticipate is how much food to cook. I have never cooked on a regular basis for this many. The older girls and I have planned a couple of dishes but not enough for the entire time they will spend with us. I am sure that we will all eat and get a plenty, right now the entire menus are not planned. 2 of the children have asked that I fix spaghetti for them.

WHY ME

Yes, it is almost always me that has to clean the kitchen.  DH will do it on a rare occasion, but not often.  I really do not blame him for not wanting to clean it tonight.  Tomorrow is trash day and that also means the fridge needs to be cleared of any food that we may have saved and not eaten.

Sitting here is not getting the kitchen clean nor is it getting Mother’s clothes in the washer and I had forgotten about them.  If I do not get them done tonight she will not have enough to last her until Monday.

TRUCK ACCESSORIES

Have you ever noticed as you are driving about locally or even on a trip, how many pick-up trucks have the same accessory? I would guess that about 40% of the ones I see have a truck toolbox. I have asked DH if he would like one for his truck, but as of now he says not.

If DH changes his mind about the truck toolbox, I will visit BuyAutoTruckAccessories.com checking their selection with more zeal than I have in the past. THE BLANKET

I did just a little on the new pattern last night. I am changing it a small degree, just hope that when I start making the V-stitch, I have the correct amount of stitches. If I don’t, I will just rip it out and start over following the pattern exactly. I hope my way works because I like it better. Wow!!! that was dumb—-If I didn’t like the change better then why would I change it.

Ok, I need to do a few more post, straighten the kitchen and crochet crochet CROCHET. I found out the last day of work for the little Mom to be is Dec. 16.

ANOTHER PATTERN

I am going to start yet another baby blanket.  This will be #3 for this little fellow.  #1 I really like but the last stitch in the shell seems stretched when connecting to the designated stitch in the pattern.  #2 is similar to #1 but not as pretty.  #3 is a combination of  doubles, 3 doubles together and v stitches.

When DD feels like it, she will do something to my system so that I can download pics and I will show you the three different patterns.  Now that I think I have made up my mind, I will work on it a few minutes and then go to bed.  I have to be to work at 6 in the am.

RAIN RAIN

We received some rain today.  DH said that the rain gauge showed only 3 tenths, but it surely seems as if we got more.  It was not a steady rain, but several showers throughout the day. Some of the showers were quiet heavy at times.  I had to put my wipers on fast some of the time to keep the windsheild cleared on my drive to and from seeing Mother, other times I could cut them off.  There are also rain puddles here and there.  Maybe it will continue to rain off and on during the night.

RESTLESS NIGHT

I have not slept well for the past few nights but last night was the worst in a long time.  I went to bed about 9:30, having not been to sleep I got up a fraction before 12 and went back to bed about 1.  I still was awake off and on until the clock alarmed, then I could have slept with no problem.  Not sleeping well is surely against the betterment of my health.

I am hoping that when I get thru here, and crochet a few rows, I can go to bed and go to sleep and have a restful night.  It may not happen as I have to be to work at 6 in the morning and I never sleep well nights before I go in early.

MOTHER 10-24-07

Mother was sleeping, but I do not expect different.  She did wake when I put the small stuffed animals in her hands (using these instead of braces trying to prevent her fingers from curling), drank a few sips of water and went back to sleep.

Both of her hands were extremely swollen today.  No idea what the reason, sometimes it is the position they have been or are in.

I was told by two facility staff members that the Advantage Hospice aids that Mother has are the best.  Both at different times said they sure wished that these aids worked for the facility.  I am really hoping that Mother will get better care and at least have a drink of water when she wants it or soon thereafter.

HAIR LOSS

Years past, people would comment on how thick, shiny and lustrous my hair was, but not anymore. I have noticed that I have about half as much hair as I had 2 maybe 2 1/2 years ago. I know that anesthesia will cause one to lose hair but normally it comes back. Also, thyroid problems will cause hair loss. What about radiation treatments? Was it my enemy as well as my friend? I have noticed that my hair is significantly thinner since the treatment in August. In fact, I have to sometimes comb it a certain way to hid my scalp. What can I do to promote hair regrowth?

Hair loss is a real problem for lots of men and women. In my research, I found trustsource.org to have reviews on several products that claim to promote hair regrowth. Provillus is one of these products and it has been reviewed by everyday people and rated according to its effectiveness. Now another question for my pharmacist, is this product safe to take with my medications?
