STAIRS
I have to climb stairs quite often at work. The lay-a-way department has some storage upstairs and the personnel office is upstairs. Yesterday I was going up to talk with the HR manager about my upcoming vacation and almost fell. Yes, most people fall down the stairs but I am different. Maybe I should ask the company to invest in a couple of stairlifts.
I am really glad that my house is only one level for several reasons. I have arthritis in my knees and sometimes stair climbing is difficult. Another reason is I do not have to worry about the younger grandchildren falling down the stairs when they are here. I guess to a degree, I am beginning to fear stairs. The closer to the top I get the more I think “what if I fall”. I definitely need to change my thoughts to something more pleasant.
I have never seen a stairlift in operation but have seen wheelchair lifts used in vans. If the stairlift operates as well and convenient as the wheelchair lift, there is no reason why it should not, it would certainly be worth the investment.
