MOTHER 10-31-07

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Mother was awake today when I visited.  She had her eyes closed when I entered the room but sensed that someone was in the room and opened her eyes.  I walked over to the bed and she smiled and watched me as I hung her clothes.   I gave her a sip of water and she frowned and did not want more, I then gave her a sip of Mountain Dew but she did not want more of that either.

It may just be in mind, but today she seemed more alert, she did not try to say anything (this is not unusual). I think she is doing better with the new aids, she appears refreshed as one does after a good bath, her nails are trimmed.  They started with her on Oct 23rd and work Mon – Fri.  I have yet to meet either of them because of my schedule, but maybe soon.

I really believe that the thyroid tissue is growing again. I have had laryngitis for the past 2 days and a choking sensation just like before the RAI treatment. I am also beginning to be fatigued, not just tired. I do have an appointment with the surgeon on November 14. This was already scheduled as a follow-up from the RAI treatment. If I continue to have problems, I will need to discuss and get a life insurance quote from my brother.

All types of things can be done to remodel a bathroom, especially if there is ample space. I would like to remodel our guest bathroom. I would like to separate the toilet from the vanity and tub/shower area, possibly even separating the tub/shower from the vanity area and making the vanity area large enough to be a dressing room. In this dressing room, I would want a fog resistant mirrored section on three walls so that my guests would have no problem checking their appearance before leaving the dressing room. Maybe even install two bathroom vanities or a double vanity, I could then have a male and female vanity decorating each accordingly. I would hang the female’s mirror just a few inches lower than I would hang the male’s mirror for convenience sake.

Maybe this vanity does not appeal to you but there are others from which to choose, contemporary, traditional or even glass and the vanity shapes are oblong, square or round.

I could shop at a contemporary furniture store with my ideas in mind and get just bathroom furniture vanities or get luxury bathroom vanity cabinets. I know that if I shop at for my bathroom vanities whether they are luxury vanities or just plain vanities, I will get the lowest guaranteed prices, money back satisfaction guaranteed, and free insured shipping.

DH is so very sick.  He was up several times during the night.  Before he got back into bed the first time he had to get up, he had a chill and just could not shake it off.  Literally when he got back into bed his whole body was shaking for quite a while.  I did all I knew to get him warm, but it was not enough, his body had to work thru the chill.  He lost his morning coffee and still went to work.  I do not know how he had the strength to go work as sick as he was and no more sleep than he got.

We have been married 31 years and this is the first time that I know of him throwing up.  He does not get sick very often but when he does, he tries to make up for all the times he has not been.  The last time he was really, really sick was March of 2005.

He ate chicken noodle soup for supper.  Hopefully, it will stay down and will help him feel better.

My cheering girls won 2nd place in the local cheering competition and will be going to Charlotte Thanksgiving Day afternoon for regional competition. Country was excited but she has a tendency not to show her emotions, she just kept saying ‘we going to Charlotte, we going to Charlotte’ and really smiling. Diva always shows her emotions. When the MC announced that the Jets had won second place, she jumped up and down and around. If one did not know the reason, they may have thought she was having a ka-nip-shun fit.

I am so glad that I could go to the competition today as I will not be able to go to Charlotte. They are so excited!! and so is their mom. In fact she plans to help coach when the new season starts if not before.

I tried to take a few pics but was too far away.

I am looking forward to the cheer leading competition tomorrow. I have never attended a competition and may need to take a headache remedy with me. This is the first year that my girls have cheered so they are very excited about what is going on. One of them does several cartwheels in the routine, and the other is a base for a pyramid. Their team is #30 in the competition, waiting that long, we may each need to invest in cbu mailboxes.

While sightseeing in Manchester, enjoy the luxury of nice Manchester Accommodation.   Palace Hotel Manchester (The)Staying here gives the advantage of history, the Palace Hotel located in the heart of Manchester city is walking distance from Opera House, the Bridgewater Hall and MICC.  All of these tourist attractions  will surely be of interest.

After enjoying the attractions offered in Manchester, venture on over to Edinburgh.  After a day of walking from here to yon seeing attractions, Edinburgh Hotels will surely welcome you with a warm bath and a delicious meal served in their dining room.

Or maybe while on vacation, you want it to be a ‘do nothing vacation’, just  relaxing in an Edinburgh Accommodation enjoying room service and the fact that there is no schedule to keep you going all day like the Ever Ready battery.

I still do not have everything done that I need to do before the grandchildren come.  I will probably be doing stuff the morning they are to come over.

The next thing that I want to do is rearrange the living room.  I want DH to put one of the empty curio cabinets in the corner.  I can then put the knick-knacks that are on the end table in it, put the loveseat in front of the window instead of using it to make a foyer and I don’t have a clue where we will put the end table and rocker.  My LR is only 18 x 11, and that is small for 7 children to have ample “my space” room.

It will be fine.

I remember as a child that my aunt and 5 of her children would come and spend time with us.  At least Mother had bed space even if we smaller children slept 4 in a bed and across the bed, instead of head to foot.  It was a fun time.

If I were planning to make a major appliance purchase or entertainment purchase such as a big panasonic 32 inch LCD TV, Krillion would do my shopping for me. Krillion can lead me to the local product, local pricing of the HDTV and the exact location of said product where I will get the best price, extended warranties and in house service. The prices of these TVs have dropped considerably in the past few years and Krillion has stayed on top with the “know” of best prices and best deals.

For some unknown reason, shoppers usually shop in person rather than on line for for a flat panel TV. Yes, about 92 % of the buyers do so in person, wanting a personal look and comparison at what is available, and maybe better understand and get more familiar with what is available by asking the salesperson questions. will done all the work for us. They can provide accurate local shopping information helping find exactly what we may want in an LCD item and the store nearest to us. it Krillion provides the most accurate web information locally, telling consumers about products and where to buy them at the best deal. was just founded in February, 2007 but its rank in service provided is high.

SATURDAY 10-27-2007

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

Did I spend my Saturday off just lazing about, sleeping until I was ready to get up, working on the baby blanket, maybe cleaning a little. No, I helped my daughter by chauffeuring the cheerleaders here and there.

For convenience sake they spent last night with me and we were across the river at my hairdresser’s shop before 9am. After they each get their hair cut, we stop by Wendy’s for food, then on to the appointed place for competition practice. While waiting for their time, we make a tentative menu for 3 meals per day x 6 days. After they go over their routine, we stop at the local grocery store to get something for DH’s supper and while there we do a little shopping for what they would like to eat while staying with us. Hurriedly, we bring in the groceries, put them away and I put baby limas in the crockpot.

Then we take off to see Mother, who is sleeping. I hang her clothes, re-arrange a few items in her room, check on how she has been eating and we leave.

Stopping on the way home at a SubWay shop, we get more to eat and then head on home.

It is not a normal day for me, but I did enjoy spending most of the day with the girls. I asked DD to spend time with me, but she had too much to do.
