SEMINAR

The mandatory seminar that cash office personnel was suppose to have attended last Thursday but was cancelled has been rescheduled for tomorrow.  That will be another long day.  I have to report to work at 6 and will probably not get to our store until about 4.  The good thing is that travel time will be on the clock.

I plan to take my crocheting with me, so that I will have something to do other than talk while we ride.

Mother II 9-27-07

When I was writing about Mother earlier, I forgot to tell you that she smiled at me last night.  It was a closed smile, but she still smiled.  It is very rare that she smiles at me.  Tonight she did not smile, she just watched me as I hung her clothes and when I tried to talk to her, she acted not interested.  She cannot hear and has always had a hard time hearing me.  The pitch of my voice must be one that she really has a hard time with.

One of her kidney functions is suppose to be no higher than 18 and in August it was 40.  Her hemoglobin was 11 and it should be at least 12.  Right now the concern is her kidney function.

GAMES

I am not much on games except an occasional card game. My grandchildren are always playing some type of game. Some that have been patented and some that they just make up. I enjoy watching them play the made up ones, because it tells me what interest them and what they enjoy doing. I know that they are aware of the PS2, but have not heard any of them ask for it.  They are more inclined to ask for movies than video games.

MOTHER 9-27-07

Mother ate not well last night but much better than she does some of the time.  She ate all of her carrots, probably 1/3 of her pork chop, half of her dessert, all of her tea and coffee and a couple of sips of her water.  The aid said she ate good the day before.

I am beginning to think that some of those hired to work at this facility cannot read!!!  On Mother’s menu sheet that is printed for each meal is a list of her dislikes. Printed in capital letters is “CHIX BREAST”, last night what do they give her, that’s right chicken breast.  I go to the kitchen for something else,”I’m sorry they only cooked breast”.  I ask for the alternate and get a pork chop after the staff acting like I am so stupid.

KILLER DAY

WOW!! today was a very bad, horrible, terrible, no fun day at work. I had problem after problem, some I could solve, some I could not. The day ended by cash being over $2382.85. The acting store manager and I searched and searched, but could never find the error. Finally he said just close the day and he would email District security and tell him. Shortly after I had closed the day, our store security came to the cash office and within 10 minutes had found my error, but since I had already closed the day, neither of us knew how to correct it. I called the lady again that usually works in the office and told her the problem and she will correct it in the AM.

This was not a short day—5:57AM until 5:22PM with maybe a 30 minute break at 2 makes for a very long and tiring day.

Bedtime? Yes, it is.

SCHEDULE

I really need to pay more attention to my schedule.  About two weeks ago, I went in and was not even scheduled to be there, today I worked until 3 when I was suppose to leave at 2.  I will leave on time tomorrow, I hope. Today was office and lay-a-way and so is tomorrow.

I need to spend about 2 days just in lay-a-way organizing the items that people have just placed any ole way.  When the rush of getting those lay-a-ways out comes, I hope I am not working in that department!!

Now thru October 6th the down payment is only $1.00, I know people will abuse that.  Some will put on hundreds of dollars of merchandise and never make another payment on it.

UNKNOWN APPOINTMENT

I received a call Friday from one of my doctors stating that I had an appointment today. I did not make the appointment but I know why it was made. He had not seen me since the RAI and new prescription so he just wanted to check and make sure I was doing ok (like I would not call) and do more blood work on my thyroid levels. Today’s visit was only $295.

CHRISTMAS SHOPPING

Just what does one buy for the person who has whatever they want or need. Or when they decide they want a particular item, they just go buy it, never hinting they would like to have such and such. My DH very rarely ever gives me Christmas gift ideas, so I just shop for him, hoping hope against hope that it is something that he wants. Money is not a good option as he makes more than I do. A gift certificate is just about the same as money. Well, I have 3 months to decide what I am going to do about this situation. Everyone else that I buy for is easy shopping.
