HALLOWEEN COSTUMES

I have not worn a halloween costume in many, many years. In fact I think it was probably in 1978 or 1979. I am really not a an of dressing up for halloween. I was working as a waitress at the time and all the other waitresses were going to be in costume and I did not want to be different. I dressed as an old lady, with powder on my hair and an old timey bonnet, long dress and apron. I can just go nature now and be an old lady, no need for powder on the hair! Choosing halloween costumes can be time consuming to get just the right one.

The little tykes will be pleased as punch to see your unusual costume. What would make it even better is to have candy and such shaped like little footballs. No doubt, you will be the talk of the neighborhood. Dressing like this would be great for a neighborhood gathering or something held at church or the community building instead of the usual outings on halloween night.

If I were to dress, which I am not, it would be in the Carolina uniform. I am a North Carolina fan, true to the blue, win or lose.

TOMORROW 9-15-07

A shame, a real shame that I have to get up at 4:30 on a Saturday morning in order to be to work at 6.  I thought Saturday mornings were made for sleeping, but guess not.  I slept in today so maybe that helps.  Nope, not really.  I would like to sleep in every morning.

I think I will put DH in shock—-get up from here, clean the kitchen and then sit in the living room and crochet for a bit before I go to bed.

MOVE IT

I stopped by DD’s house today on my way to see Mother, as I often do if time permits. I had greeted the older girls and was on my way to the others. Batman went running to the living room doorway announcing to the others “Grandi is here”. When DD got in my line of vision she did not say ‘hi’ or ‘hello’ or ‘come on in’ or even ‘I don’t have time for a visit, I was just before leaving’. Her greeting was “if you parked your car behind my van, you will have to move it, I am getting ready to leave”. I was so shocked by the abruptness of her tone, that I laid the house dresses I had promised Diva and frilly socks for Prissy and Fancy on the dryer, turned and left.

I am sorry that I did not take the time to acknowledge the other children, but that is too late now. I am still saying to myself, did she really say that in that tone of voice.

LONDON PASS

Personally I could probably spend at least 2 days at the London Zoo. Who would want to miss visiting Kensington Palace, home to Diana, Princess of Wales?

Another great feature of the London Pass is not having to wait in line for the crowded attractions, Just show your pass and you get immediate entry. This in itself is worth the pass, if traveling with young children or older adults or with me as I have no patience when it comes to waiting.

HE IS TIRED

DH got off work yesterday at 4:30 pm, had to be back at 12:30 am and just got home about 12 noon.  That is too many hours with so little sleep.  The only sleeping he did between the day shift and the night shift was on the couch.  I know he must be exhausted.

He will now be on night shift until further notice.  I guess we will see very little of each other until he goes back on days.  The last time he was on night shift some days we did not even see each other and other days only for a few minutes, not even enough time to share a meal together.

He has a job and I have a job, I am thankful.
