I am really tired and choking bad tonight. It will pass!!! I did not realize what a toll the almost daily trip to see Mother takes on me. That is ok, I will continue to go during the week as much as my work schedule allows. I will definitely not need any track lighting to find the bed tonight. I am so tired that I would be willing to feel my way to it in the pitch black of night, however the night light will surely help.
Not a lot of what I had planned to do today got done. In fact the only things that were done was going to the dentist and taking Mother her clothes. The dentist visit is a post all of its own. I did cook a fairly decent supper since DH was working and we usually do0 not go out if he works. Tomorrow is another day and we will just wait and see what happens then.
No need for party invitations because it really is not a party but a family reunion. My cousins (my mom’s sister’s children) have a family reunion the first Sunday in October and for the past few years have invited me. The reunion is very nice and it is great to see everyone, but the party and real fun begins after almost every one is gone. Three of the sisters and myself sit around drink coffee, they smoke, and we laugh and carry on like we were teenagers again.
Tomorrow’s schedule for the grandchildren’s games is a little tight. With 3 different game times, it is sometimes difficult to have everyone at the appointed place at the correct time. The children practice in Leland but all of the games are in Ogden and with the horrendous amount of traffic, it can take up to 45 minutes or longer to get them to the ball park for their games.
Tomorrow one of the boys has to be at the park at 9:30, the girls have an event to attend in Leland at 12:45, the other 2 boys have a game at 3 and then the girls are to cheer at a game at 5. Except for the event in Leland, this type schedule will be the Saturday routine until the end of October. 3 games each Saturday, just at different times.
Last Saturday DH and I kept Prissy (Drama) to help with the child watching. This Saturday, I will chauffeur the girls and keep Prissy. I hope there is not a lot of conflict next Saturday, because I have to work.
That is me, just plain. The only make-up I use is occasional lipstick. I probably would use a little mascara and shadow if I could see to put it on. I am leading up to say that I do not decorate me and neither do I decorate much in the house. About twice a year I put a tablecloth on the table, the rest of the time the wood finish is what we get. My DH likes the fanciness but I do not. Some folks decorate for each season and some for each celebrated day, I am doing good to put out a few Christmas decorations. If DH did not put up the tree, we probably would not have one. Like I said, I am just plain!
Last night Mother looked at me as if I were a stranger. I did not go the day before and it was about 8 when I arrived and with the dim lighting in her room, she may not have recognized me. I told her who I was, but it did not help. It is so very odd to see the difference in her day to day. My brother said last weekend that she seemed more alert than she had been for some time and even said ‘I love you’ to him. Today she was sleeping, so I did not wake her. Time will heal all.
