If you have never experienced this, you really do not want to and if you have, you are probably not wanting to do it again. I had to be up at 5 in order to be to work at 6. When I arrived to work, the greeting was not “good morning” it was “there is no electricity on this side of the store, just have a seat for a few minutes”. I replied I could use a battery operated lantern and count the money by hand (which we initially do anyway) and record it on paper. Finally it was agreed that I could do this. Let me tell you!! I would have been better off to come back home and let them call me when the lights did come back on. The hand count went fine and balanced within $10.00. The problems started about noon when full power was restored and the computer could be used and I was entering the extras we have to do. Just let it be said that I worked from a little past 6 until 5. I am almost a zombie and still have to go to the lake and check on Mother and take her clothes. I think while her clothes are drying, I will catch a short nap. Sounds good to me.
