VISITING SYDNEY

Not the person but Sydney, Australia. DH would especially like to play golf in Sidney, so while he is on the golf course, I will be lounging at one of the hotels in Sydney. This is of course after I have had a fun day at the Sydney Aquarium. On another day, we both would enjoy Koala Park and Oceanworld Manly and probably change to another accomodation in Sidney that is a bed and breakfast type.

I could do some attractions while DH is playing golf, but others I know he would want to see. There are just so many things to see and places to go and events in which to take part that it would not bother us at all to stay in cheap Sydney hotels and spend our money on things that we want to do rather than stay in luxury accomodations.

I really like the zoo type outings, so I know I would thoroughly enjoy myself in Sydney. I also enjoy fine food and would no doubt have to visit many different restaurants for the delicious cuisine available there. Forget the shopping, that I can do at home.

EASY LABELS

I do crafts and often put my name in the project I have completed, especially if it to be gifted. PlanetLabel.com has an array of labels that I could use. They specialize in laser and inkjet labels and also make preprinted labels. Folks like myself and do-it-yourselfers especially like their labels because they are made to fit our needs.

I have a need for the preprinted labels as I can label all of my craft books with those. The preprinted comes in a variety of colors and my name could easily be seen if I were to loan my books. I could also use them as return address labels and save lot of time and pain by not writing my address on each post that I mail.

CHILD-SITTING

Can’t say that I will be baby sitting as there is only DaBaby, but I will be sitting with Country, Diva, Stuntman, Spidey,  Batman, Drama and DaBaby tomorrow night so DD can go out with her husband to celebrate her birthday.   He did not ask me until Friday night and it was a little late for them to be going to dinner then.  Saturday night was out because I had to be to work at 6 this morning and not knowing how the day would go, I told him I would watch them Monday night.  I sure hope she has a nice time.  40 is considered to be one of the “bigger” birthdays.  I have never understood the reasoning behind that thought but whatever.  I would want her to have a nice time even if it were not her birthday.  I think DH is planning to go over with me if he is not too tired.

GRILLING

DH just went out with the lighter to start the charcoal.  That means the cook will be off tonight at Our Diner.  This is no surprise to her as he usually takes care of the meal if she works and he doesn’t.  If he doesn’t take her across the river to the restaurant of her choice, then he will cook.  Tonight’s menu is grilled steak and baked potato.  The cook likes salad, but it is not mandatory.   She had rather make sure she has room for all of her steak and potato.  Yum! Yum! this is gonna be so good.

WORK 7-29-07

Today was definitely not a day I enjoyed being at work.  Not only was I work and DH at home, but work did not go well.  I was scheduled for 2 positions, one ending and the other beginning at 10.  Well, I never made it to the one that began at 10 and ended at 1.  I worked in the cash office from 6-2:15 and it was not correct when I closed cash for the day.  I was short more than a few dollars.  I know why, but do not know how to correct it.  I had called the lady that normally works in the cash office several times on her cell phone, finally her phone went dead and she called me back but I don’t know where she was when she did.  I just left a message on her home phone stating I would email her when I got home and that is now done.  I am in the pharmacy tomorrow, so maybe that will be a better day.

SHOWING OFF

Our Diner was closed tonight as is the norm for a Saturday night.  I had told DH that I wanted to take Drama to the restaurant where all the other grandchildren had been.  So amidst a light thunder storm, I go get her and clean her up a little and away we go.  The waitress was so busy that we did not have time to chat.  Now the only one left for her to see is DaBaby.  When she gets a little older we will take her.  I told DH we needed to start giving them turns going with us when we go out to eat and he agreed.

Yes, I do like to show off my grandchildren as most grandparents do.   I guess it is a “gandparent” thing.

THYROID

I had to go back Thursday and let them do another thyroid panel as it is still too low for me to take the RAI treatment. It is higher now than when I was on the medication. I do not understand this. ???? Anyone out there reading this with medical knowledge, please comment. In April the TSH level was 1.4, it should be between .0.47-4.68. On the 20th with no meds it was11.60. The nurse said it was still too low for the treatment. I am ready to get all this over so that maybe I will began to feel, half-way human. The Free T4 was too low at 0.07, it should be 0.62-1.94. I do wish I could find good info that explained how the 2 work together.

DD CALLED

DD called just as I was getting out of bed, had not even had my first cup of coffee and wanted me to go across the river with her. I told her I just could not do that today. I feel bad that I didn’t go, but it takes lots of energy to go to town with that child and I do not have ANY. Hopefully she will go anyway and enjoy herself. I do enjoy the time we spend together but today is not a good day.

SHOPPING

When you shop, do you like to save on all of your purchases? Of course you do and who wouldn’t. A trip over to couponchief.com can indeed save you money. It is time to start shopping for back to school clothes and supplies the Children’s Place has very nice clothes and have recently added shoes to their line of merchandise. Do the children need new computers to help tackle all the homework they will be assigned or for research on a special project? Dell is offering fantastic savings on some of their computer equipment.

If you do not have children of school age, do not fret, you can still save on purchases. It is not too early to start planning that spring flower garden. Michigan Bulb has any type of bulb that you would want to plant. Tulips are early spring bloomers and the day lily is a summer bloomer. Mums can be ordered for flowers in the fall. These are only a few of the many, many flowers and shrubs they have.
