WASHED CAR

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

While I was still sleeping yesterday morning, my DH washed my car. Yes, he does do that for me quite regularly, partly because he likes to be busy and partly because he knows I would never manually do it. He always cleans the rims and tires and sometimes he even cleans the inside. Automotive detailing supplies would make this job much easier for him. I guess I should consider getting those supplies for him since he is nice enough to do my car.

DREAM KITCHEN

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

In my dream kitchen that I designed a few weeks ago, I failed to mention the stove. I would want it maybe only 4 inches lower than most manufactured stoves today. I think that I would want 2 stoves or else a cooking service with at least 6 burners. I know that is a lot of burners, but sometimes it seems that I do not have enough cooking space. However, that creates a problem as to how the range hoods would be installed. I guess the company that makes the stoves and hoods will already have that little problem solved.

PAYROLL

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

One of my jobs in the past was to prepare payroll twice a month. When I first started the job, it was for about 175 employees, when I quit there were about 225 employees. Not much increase, but at that time, everyone punched a time card and the cards were figured manually (with the help of a calculator, of course) but still it was quite time consuming just to get the time ready to be entered for the payroll, making sure that those who received differential pay for evening and night shift were not overlooked. After getting the time ready to enter, if I had been using up to date payroll software, the job would have gone faster and I am sure much less headache.  The software would have noted those who received differential pay figured it for me.

PLANNING AHEAD

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

The cook at Our Diner really tries to make sure the DH has a good meal when he works.  Just as he looks after her, she tries to look after him.  Knowing that tomorrow afternoon will be rushed as she is working until 3, plans to go see her mom and sit with the grandchildren, she has already prepared part of tomorrow night’s supper.  The menu is cube steak in onion and garlic gravy, stewed down potatoes, rice and canned string beans.  All she will need to do tomorrow is prepare the rice and heat the beans, potatoes, meat and gravy.  Oh yes, she did that.  Between making her posts and eating ice cream, the cook started the meal she will serve tomorrow night.  Sometimes, not often, she does surprise everyone including herself by her swiftness.

VISITING SYDNEY

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

Not the person but Sydney, Australia. DH would especially like to play golf in Sidney, so while he is on the golf course, I will be lounging at one of the hotels in Sydney. This is of course after I have had a fun day at the Sydney Aquarium. On another day, we both would enjoy Koala Park and Oceanworld Manly and probably change to another accomodation in Sidney that is a bed and breakfast type.

I could do some attractions while DH is playing golf, but others I know he would want to see. There are just so many things to see and places to go and events in which to take part that it would not bother us at all to stay in cheap Sydney hotels and spend our money on things that we want to do rather than stay in luxury accomodations.

I really like the zoo type outings, so I know I would thoroughly enjoy myself in Sydney. I also enjoy fine food and would no doubt have to visit many different restaurants for the delicious cuisine available there. Forget the shopping, that I can do at home.

EASY LABELS

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

I do crafts and often put my name in the project I have completed, especially if it to be gifted. PlanetLabel.com has an array of labels that I could use. They specialize in laser and inkjet labels and also make preprinted labels. Folks like myself and do-it-yourselfers especially like their labels because they are made to fit our needs.

I have a need for the preprinted labels as I can label all of my craft books with those. The preprinted comes in a variety of colors and my name could easily be seen if I were to loan my books. I could also use them as return address labels and save lot of time and pain by not writing my address on each post that I mail.

Planetlabel.com also has a wide range of promotional items: magnets, pennants, buttons and stickers. Also available are items for your wedding, anniversary celebration or any special event that you would want to give your guest a keepsake.

CHILD-SITTING

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

Can’t say that I will be baby sitting as there is only DaBaby, but I will be sitting with Country, Diva, Stuntman, Spidey,  Batman, Drama and DaBaby tomorrow night so DD can go out with her husband to celebrate her birthday.   He did not ask me until Friday night and it was a little late for them to be going to dinner then.  Saturday night was out because I had to be to work at 6 this morning and not knowing how the day would go, I told him I would watch them Monday night.  I sure hope she has a nice time.  40 is considered to be one of the “bigger” birthdays.  I have never understood the reasoning behind that thought but whatever.  I would want her to have a nice time even if it were not her birthday.  I think DH is planning to go over with me if he is not too tired.

GRILLING

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

DH just went out with the lighter to start the charcoal.  That means the cook will be off tonight at Our Diner.  This is no surprise to her as he usually takes care of the meal if she works and he doesn’t.  If he doesn’t take her across the river to the restaurant of her choice, then he will cook.  Tonight’s menu is grilled steak and baked potato.  The cook likes salad, but it is not mandatory.   She had rather make sure she has room for all of her steak and potato.  Yum! Yum! this is gonna be so good.

WORK 7-29-07

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

Today was definitely not a day I enjoyed being at work.  Not only was I work and DH at home, but work did not go well.  I was scheduled for 2 positions, one ending and the other beginning at 10.  Well, I never made it to the one that began at 10 and ended at 1.  I worked in the cash office from 6-2:15 and it was not correct when I closed cash for the day.  I was short more than a few dollars.  I know why, but do not know how to correct it.  I had called the lady that normally works in the cash office several times on her cell phone, finally her phone went dead and she called me back but I don’t know where she was when she did.  I just left a message on her home phone stating I would email her when I got home and that is now done.  I am in the pharmacy tomorrow, so maybe that will be a better day.
