The cook decided since the grandsons were here it would be best to cook, yes, easy spaghetti Monday night. Tuesday night, fried hamburger patties with rice, corn and stewed potatoes. DH grilled again tonight. What a vacation! Vacation from work and the cook has almost had a vacation from the kitchen.

THANK YOU

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

When I got home from my beauty appointment (didn’t help) about 12:30, DH was working very diligently in the back yard cleaning the rose bed. I do thank him for doing this. I cannot bend my knees long enough to do any weeding or grass pulling. Any upkeep to the flower beds is now totally up to him and he does keep them done. He does them about once a year, putting down fresh mulch over the old.

CROWDED CLASSROOMS

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

It seems that every year there are more students and the same amount of space for learning. These crowded conditions can interfere with the learning of some students because of the lack of personal space. Versa Products, Inc, the manufacturer and retailer of classroom furniture realized the importance of desk size and individual space and created LAN Racks. This allows for students to have their individual space and with shelves built underneath the lab tables storage for the books and backpacks.

Lan Racks are nothing more than specially designed racks on which to place computer monitors and their hard drives. The monitors can be turned in any direction needed for total classroom view. Discounts are available for two or more like items and shipment is free is free for the first 48 states of America.

CARD GAMES

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

There are many kinds of card games played today. Poker is a very popular one. I have a friend that gathers with his friends once a month for their regular poker game. I don’t know if they play Pacific Poker or some other type of poker game.

In fact, he was telling me Monday about some type of law that had been passed concerning online poker winnings. He is a very honest person so I am sure that he would abide by any rules that MacPoker has established for their on line players.

ALERT

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

Mother seemed to be very alert yesterday.  Could have been the time of day.  My brother says that he finds Mother to be less sleepy around meal times.  She did not eat well at all.  She ate 1 1/2 servings of sherbet, drank all of her water, tea and coffee, 2 shrimp and a bite of string beans.  That was her lunch.

I was wearing clothes that she had not seen before and I could tell that she was really looking at my shirt.  I had out the bottom of it and asked if she liked it and she said “It’s pretty”.  Later as I was feeding her the sherbet, she said “It’s cold”.   I gave her some coffee and when I started to give her more she said “coffee” with a question in her tone of voice.  I was pleased that she said so much.  This tells me she is fully aware of what is happening.

VISITORS

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

As I previously stated in earlier posts, my cousin went to see Mother yesterday. When we all arrived, Mother was already in the day room for her lunch. Yes, they use the day room for meals to feed those that must be fed She was her usual self until she saw my cousin’s husband and then she gave him the biggest smile. Later, she smiled at her. I am glad that she acknowledged recognizing them, didn’t surprise me, but I am sure it made them feel that the trip was not wasted.
