WORK 6-30-07

Lay-a-way was really busy today. I went in at 10 and it was 12:45 before I could even get a break, 4:30 before I could go to lunch and I did not even take an afternoon break. My back is still acting crazy. As long as I do not bend over it seems to be ok, but tell me please how can one work independently and not bend over if the job sometimes requires it. Tomorrow, I am scheduled 2-7 in the same department.

Next week I will be working in the pharmacy 9-5 with Wednesday off and Saturday off. That will not go well with mu back either because there is a lot of bending and stretching to be done there.

AIR CONDITIONER

My brother called and told me the a/c at Mothers was not operating correctly. The outside unit is running but no cool air is coming thru the inside vents. I sure hope the repair cost is minimal. He really needs the a/c because on week-ends he goes home during the summer (almost every one), if the yard needs mowing he does it. It would be a shame for him to work so hard and then not have a/c. The unit is only about 4 years old. I surely hope his body is not like mine in the sense that if I get hot my hands and feet swell until they are uncomfortable.

Thankfully, there are still a couple of floor fans there so maybe he can get a little rest tonight.

DINER CLOSED

Our Diner was closed tonight as is usually the case on Friday night’s if DH is not working. The diner is either closed or he grills. Tonight we went across the river and ate at one of the 3 restaurants that we frequent. I feel so stuffed. I don’t think that I eat more when we go out but the variety of foods make me feel that I have eaten too much and sometimes I even feel nauseous. Nothing beats good homemade gravy and rice as long as the rice is not some of that instant cook mess. Next time we go there, I think I will just eat 3 or 4 different foods and see if that makes a difference in how I feel.

CAR and LIFE INSURANCE

We have been insured with the same company for car insurance for several years. They provide the coverage we need at a reasonable price. We have never had to file a claim against our car insurance, and I am glad because that would only mean higher premiums. We have our home insurance with the same company, while I wish we could get more coverage for it, we can’t because it is a mobile home.

We do have life insurance, that is ample, but sometimes with the rate of inflation, I think we should increase the value of our policies. If we had underage children, I know the value of our life insurance would not be nearly enough to provide for them until they became colle age and pay for their college education.

MOTHER-TODAY-6-29-07

This is a day to go down in history!! My niece went to see Mother today for the first time in over 15 months. Wonders never cease. What is so odd about this visit is that Mother’s condition really has not changed much in the past 4 months or so and she decides to visit. Last November when Mother changed drastically for the worse almost overnight, she was notified but didn’t go see her then.

Now on to another subject that makes me wonder how some people sleep at night. If it is your job to take care of those that can’t take care of themselves and you do a sorry job of it, how in the world do you live with yourself. I just do not understand being in that profession, if you are not going to treat those people like you would want to be treated. As I have stated before, Mother is completely helpless. Today I find that her t-shirt has not been snapped, her gown is incorrectly snapped, and her teeth have not been brushed. While I ranting, let me add that her diapers should not be left in public view for anyone who walks down the hall to see them on her bedside table. Would the aid want her underwear left out so that anyone could see them?? Maybe she, the aid, doesn’t care, but I am a somewhat private person and my undergarments should not be on public display and Mother wouldn’t either! While it is a known fact that a lot of the residents in the facility do wear diapers, it still should not be visibly broadcast.

Mother was resting but not comfortably, I asked the aid to come change her and she did. Before I left Mother seemed to be ready for a real nap.

MORE about CREDIT CARDS

It seems that a lot of my posts are about credit cards. The reason I make so many post about compare credit cards making sure you are getting the best available interest. I highly recommend that if you are in credit card debt, search different card companies, finding the one that offers the lowest interest for the longest period of time and make transfers to this card especially if you find one that offers no transfer fee and 0% balance transfers. By transferring your balances to lower or no interest credit cards, you will save hundreds if not thousands of dollars will be credit card debt free sooner.

WHAT

Is wrong this time??  I feel so tired and weak.  Even my legs feel weak.  My voice is squeaky again.  I thought maybe it was because of the stress I endured Monday, but it has improved very little and I still choke almost all of the time.  I did work my 4 hours today.

Plus not feeling well, I feel guilty for not going to check on Mother.

My work schedule stinks.  I have to work Sunday 2-7.  I think I have had one full week-end off since sometime in April.  When I feel like looking at my schedule calendar, I will verify that.  I know that I have to work Saturday, maybe Sunday’s schedule will change.  The district manager had the  schedule for next week today, he may change it.
