I have not been to see Mother since Monday for no reason other than I am on vacation and just did not want to go. Should I feel guilty? Probably, but I don’t. I am just so tired of going, going, going, and going some more. One day I am told that I will wish I could go. Maybe so maybe not.
As the saying goes, I have just had my rug pulled out from under me.
Since May 22, 2006 thru yesterday, I have medical bills of $25477.33, some small payments by insurance is still pending, but right now the balance is 16090.60.
I received a letter from the hospital about my outstanding bill of $9950., so I called. I am told that I can’t get a discount, because I have insurance and discounts are only for those that do not. They want the bill paid off in 12 months. That is $829. per month, more than I make. If I do not fill out the financial aid form (which I have been advised against) then my account goes to collections. I am only paying $20. a month to them but have told them that when I get some of the other medical bills paid, that I will add that amount to what I send them. Not good enough. They would not even discuss a payment plan with me, because of the financial aid form.
I know that if one month I send them more, then that is what will be expected each month in the future.
I just think it is so unfair that an illegal immigrant can get free medical care or someone with a green card. Because I am a US citizen with poor insurance because I can’t afford $800. or more per month for good coverage, I am penalized.
Yes, my husband has a job but his income is already delegated.
I guess I need to sign up for any program on the web that pays one to write posts.
My rant for the day!!!
