COMMUNICATION

It is imperative that business proprietors realize that without the customer, there would be no business. Communication is a vital part of any business whether it be verbal or via email.

Help desk software is the system that can solve a lot of problems. Once installed the customer can contact you directly on your web site or via email. This software also allows for efficient trouble shooting of any problem the customer may have and even offers live chats to help answer questions or eliminate problems. These sources have a built in logging and tracking system which enables proprietors to make sure all problems the customer may have are solved.

NAME CHANGE

I am changing the name of the kitchen and dining area in our home from Diner Ours to Our Diner.  I think this sounds better and truthfully it is easier for me to remember when I have a post on cooking.

CHILDREN

My grandchildren are so sweet, cute in looks and actions, and sometimes very funny. In this post I will tell you about DGD#4, age 2y 9 m. Go back a couple of post and there you will find DGS#2.

I call her Priss or Prissy and have since she was born. Every time I go over, she will meet me and say “Grandi, you home.” I do not know why she does this. It may be because the others say “Grandi is here” or they always say “Dad”s home” when he drives up.

She is not yet potty trained and that is okay for several reasons. She also says “Grandi, you change me, I not poopy”. Her mom uses cloth diapers daily except Sunday. I do not like cloth diapers and make sure that there are disposable ones available. Changing her diaper when I go over has been a ritual that we have done since she started talking a little, even before sentences.   Her mom calls it a ‘Grandi thing’.  Priss will sometimes say “Grandi you put paper diaper on me”.

Another thing is “Grandi, fix Priss bottle now.”  and I say “How do you ask?”   and she says  “Please” and then when she gets it she will say “thank you”.   The nice thing is at their age, they love me just because.

TIME FLYS

It seems that I have no time to do the things that should be done and even less time to do the things that I want to do or enjoy doing. Is it the way I manage or the lack of management of my time that makes this true? I know that I do not make a list of things I need to do, so I just jump from one thing to the other, seeming to never finish anything and wasting time because I mull over what I am not getting done instead of just doing it. I definitely need a priority list.

I probably really need to look into getting help from this resource: improve your time management skills. I did take a quick look at their site and am doing nothing that helps me spend my time wisely.

WORDS

The 7 yro DGS sure has a way with words. Yesterday when I went over to pick up his younger brother to go with me to see Mother, He meet me in the yard and said this to me.

“Grandi, you don’t have to answer right now, but the next time you go see Grandmother, can I go. Just think about it.”

How could I ever say ‘No” to a request like that. You are right, I didn’t, and he went today.

LEFTOVERS

Tonight at the Diner Ours the menu is quite simple and easy.  Just what the cook likes.  We will be having leftover chicken and rice with canned stringbeans.   Earlier this week we had stewed chicken thighs, seasoned with salt, a tad of garlic, and bacon drippings.  (I have recently found that just 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of bacon drippings added to some things I cook, just improves the taste so much.)   I left the skin and fat on so that the rice would have more flavor.  I did not add any bouilion cubes because I just do not like its flavor.

Tonight, I will just transfer the chick and rice to a microwavable dish add a little water heat it up and heat the beans.  How simple and lazy is that.
