HAPPY FEET

DH and I just previewed this DVD that I got Wednesday from Circuit City.  It is really a cute movie.  I am sure the DGC(dear grand children) will enjoy it.  We did.

I always like to watch a movie if it is rated PG before I let them watch it.  There were a couple of comments calling one a fool and then stupid and one of the songs was suggestive.  Unless they walk around with cotton in their ears, I am sure they have heard worse.

MORE DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS

I have an appointment Monday for more blood work concerning my thyroid levels.  Also, I have one with a surgeon for consultation on the partial blockage (50%) of my left carotid artery and some thyroid tissue that was either left or has regrown.  Before I go to the doctors, I will go see Mother. What a way to begin my 4 days vacation.

I wish I could just go away and enjoy time, with no dead lines to be met, with someone else doing the cooking and making of the bed, you know a real vacation.

Oh well, such is life and I am so blessed that I really should have no negative thoughts.

UNCOMFORTABLE

I am uncomfortable because I am too big. How can I lose the excess 30 to 35 pounds that I carry around everyday? Extra cargo may be contributing to my tiredness. The best way I know is to quit and push. What?? Yes, when I think I have had enough to eat, quit bending my elbow bringing food to my mouth and push my self away from the table. If this fails, I could always try tenuate.

RESEARCHING

Remember when we were in school and had to write our term papers. We would spread our open books around us with our little note cards, making notes and not forgetting the footnotes. After we had all of our note cards made then we would make an outline of our subject so that our paper would have some degree of order.  As we did each step in the process of our final paper our teacher would grade us.  I did my term paper on tuberculosis, one of the nerds did his paper on market research, or maybe I was the nerd.

MEDICAL INSURANCE

One can’t afford the premium and neither can one afford not to have it. I had an “angio chest w/wo contrast” CT scan and the cost was $1219.00. I probably need to check into getting more health insurance than what I have. I should get some quotes before I make a final decision. Have you ever noticed that the same policy will have a varying premiums depending on what part of the country you reside. An example is for those who live in and purchase Colorado health insurance and for the residents of California that purchase health insurance from a California Insurance Broker. We will go to the poor house paying for our health insurance if something is not done to put a cap on the medial charges that we must pay for our health care.

RUFF DAY

Not ruff ruff like the dog but rough as in hard and tiring work. Monday when I left work my relief was working on a lay-a-way for a lady who had waited about 30 minutes while the store manager scoured around in  one of the stock areas to make sure the merchandise was available.   She wanted a group of 4 chairs and a table (chairs together in one box and table in another box).  The one she had seen was a floor model and we do not sell floor models for various reasons.   Anyway, when I arrived for work one of her labels was on the counter, which meant that one of her  boxes had not been labeled.Folks, this was 2 days ago.  Slack! Slack!  I go to the stock area and squeeze thru small spaces and such trying to find the item,  I do locate the chairs, labeled, but not the table.  I ask the store manager about it and  he tells me almost exactly where to find the table.  After squeezing thru another small space and climbing on and over other items, I find and label her table.

I did not go see my mom yesterday so that meant I really needed to go today and that I did.  I had company on the ride, 2 of my DGDs went with me.  I am glad they did because the chatter kept me awake.

REPORT OF MY DAY

I shampooed my hair and much to my surprise it styled quite easily. I have had my hair much, much shorter since the picture was made. Having my hair do right started my day off good.

Saw DD2 at the ‘looking better’ place, she said she was there for a massage. She was in a car wreck a few years back and messed her shoulder up pretty bad and she is a hairdresser so that means lots of shoulder use. Only said “hello” and “bye”, that is all the time we had.

I was not wrong, the magnetic force pulled me right to the computers at Circuit City, but their choices were very limited. But I did get “Happy Feet”.  As I was going by Sam’s, my car turned in and parked, so that meant that I had to go in and see what they had. Not much in the way of desktop computers, I still spent about $50.
Stopped by the Hallmark store and picked up Cherished Teddies that I had ordered for DGD#3  months ago. They were the membership pieces for 2006.

Then stopped by K-Mart to get DH meds and to check my schedule. I asked for a few days vacation to get a little rest and try to get myself in functioning order. Tell me if this makes sense: I will have Saturday thru Thursday off and on Friday and Saturday I am scheduled 10-7. Rarely am I ever scheduled more than 4 hours per day.

Came home spent about 45 minutes on the phone trying to determine how much pension I would get if I retired and I still don’t know. Took out the trash from the freezer room and that is about all I did in there. Prepared supper and had it ready about 6, it is now 7:35 and DH still is not home. He had to work over last night and I know he is going to tell me that he told me he would work over tonight but he didn’t.

I am a fanatic when it comes to keeping records on how much I owe and to whom and how much I have paid, so I worked on that a little.

Not a lot of relaxing and enjoyment, but a few things accomplished.

Almost forgot, saw one of my ‘adopted sisters’ and she showed me the diamond that she got Thursday night. Her husband of over 40 years died suddenly about 7 years ago. I am glad that she has found someone
