I have written a post for the ‘Carnival of the Redeemed‘ that includes the scripture verse Rev.21:4 and it was the verse of promise on my sidebar yesterday. I just think it is neat or odd or a blessing or a verse that I should really delve into not knowing what the future is for my mom. Well, I don’t know any of the future except that when i die I will go to heaven. I have plans for the future but am not promised tomorrow.

About ten years ago, my secret pal at church gave me a Precious Moment’s window. That started it!! I have been collecting Precious Moments ever since. I collect them because they look so precious. 
I have received several figurines from my DH and daughters. These pieces are especially important to me because they have a story to tell.
My brother’s death in 1993 was caused by cancer. I had a very hard time dealing with his death then and even now sometimes it it very rough. Shortly after he died I purchased the figurine ‘No Tears Past the Gate’. A phrase in the hymn “What a Day that Will Be” is no more tears to dim the eye. Every time I look at this figurine, I think about my brother and also Rev. 21:4.
I have found detailed information about the history of Precious Moments at collectiblestoday.com. I knew some of the history but not this much detail. I was pleased with what I found and may possibly use them to order some of the most precious pieces of my collectible.

I failed to tell you yesterday that the ribbon for the flattest cake was for First Place. The boy may not be able to cook very well yet, but he won the prize.
I tried to get a pic of him holding his ribbon and his mom showing the cake, but all I could get was side view (almost back view) and other people in the way.

Today 2 of my DGS had an award ceremony with their scout troop. The younger one was a part of the color guard. Part of the activities for today was a bake off and the cakes were actually judged in several categories. Oddly enough one of the categories was the flattest cake. The older one won a ribbon in this category. His cake had 3 layers and was only about an inch tall. His mom warned every one not to eat any of this cake during the covered dish that was enjoyed by all after the meeting.
I did not stay for any of the food. I got cold and was just getting colder and colder so I left. Since I was sick about 3 weeks ago, I get chilled so easily.

I also have this post listed in shopping. What shopping is mentioned above-none. I did go by Wal-green’s on my way home to pick up a couple of items. Well, 4 to be exact and a rain check for 3 more of those $11.99 memory cards. I can now stay in for the rest of the day and maybe before I go to bed, I can get warn, but so far it hasn’t happened.

This week I was only scheduled 21 hours but on next week’s schedule I have 31. That is really good! Oh, I am suppose to get a raise on the 20th. I hope it is a good one. A good raise at K-mart is 25 cents.
The secret shopper comes ever so often to grade the store and personnel. The last time she came, I was working in Electronics and she asked something about a camera. Double duh, I can’t even take a good picture, what do I know about cameras! Recently, I had seen the person who normally works in that area use a cheat sheet about the different aspects of cameras. Remembering this, I found the sheet and answered the person’s question. Sure am glad I did-this gave the store plus instead of negative points and my name was on the report also in a positive way. HR manager said to me “Way to go , girl”.
Back to the hour thing, I need all the hours I can get as I have promised 2 of my DGD that I will match 50% of what they save for girl scout camp. The 11 year old started her savings today and I already owe her $10. Tomorrow I will put it away so that I do not have to pull out a lot of money at one time.

Mother is really not eating well this week. Maybe she will eat better for my brother than the aids. My schedule did not allow for me to visit her during any of her meals this week.
My brother will visit her today and tomorrow and I will go on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Usually, I do not visit both Saturday and Sunday and sometimes not at all on these days, but my brother will be out of the area next week-end so I will go. That’s how we are, we work together trying to do what we think is best for Mother.

After I got off work today, I had to go to the competitor (Wal-Mart) to pick up a few things that we did not have or they had at a much better price.
What a steal!!! I found a queen sheet set 300 thread count for only $25.00 and an extra set of pillow cases for $7.00. They are by Home Trends and a very pretty blue, package says ‘storm blue’. The more I think about it I may have to go back tomorrow and get the deep rose set. Probably should laundry them first, but that is still an excellent price.
DH chews nicotine gum instead of smoking and it is about $16.00 cheaper at Wal-Mart.
My friend, blogger and fellow postie, Ang. mentioned feeding the birds, so I had to get some feed for them.
When I checked out I had spent $271.42. Not bad just to be going after DH gum and replacing peanut butter that had been recalled.

I had just written a nice post about my collectible “Precious Moments” thought I had published it and it is gone. That’s right-gone.
I have done this before but do not have a clue as to what I do when this happens.

My most favorite place to shop is Tanger Outlet in Myrtle Beach. My favorite store there for clothes is BonWorth. I like Bonworth because I can always find something that I like and it fits. I can chose from either casual or dressy. The only complaint is they have very, very few skirt sets, plenty of pant, capri, and short sets.
I also like to go in the kitchen gadget stores to see what they have and I am a pot fanatic. I also like several of the shoe stores and have recently found a store that carries Clarks. I like to go in the Vanity Fair store. Vanity Fair is not only lingerie but a little of everything.
We are only about 45 to 50 minutes away, so it makes a day of shopping fun. DH and I shop then eat about 5pm and come on home.
DD and I went to see Mother this afternoon. She was sleeping and we could not get her to wake up enough to realize that we were there or else she just wanted to sleep more than she wanted to see us.
Took her a picture of the baby that was 1 yesterday. She did not even pay attention to it. I will show it to her again when she is more awake. We put it on her wall with the others anyway.
Maybe when I go to see her Friday, she will be more alert.
