MOTHER-PART 21
Today after the funeral of my cousin’s husband and visiting with the family for a little while, I went by the facility to see Mother. My blood pressure almost reached the boiling point!!! I have been told Mother is the last one up and the first back to bed. It is 4:00 and Mother is already up and in her dining area for a meal to be served between 5:30 and 6. She only has the baby blanket over her and no pillow behind her head (she needs a pillow in the geri-chair). The heat in her room had been cut off. Mind you, it was only in the low 40′s here today. I take another blanket and cover her with it hang her clothes and proceed to the DON’s office. I will just say she and a couple of other nurses knew I was in the facility today.
On the way home, I call my brother (he went by to see her also after the funeral) to let him know what I found and to ask if he had told them to get Mother up. I knew he had not, but the DON tried to use that as an excuse for Mother being up toooooo early. Guess what he tells me!!!! The aid went in to get Mother up and he told her it was too early, so apparently before he even cranked his car the aid did get Mother up.
From the way things have happened in my life since Mother went to the facility March 22, 2006, I know it is God’s plan that she not stay with me, but it is still hard to accept. I would move her to another facility, but they are the same. Good care today and then again several days later, it just depends on who is taking care of her.
Til Next Time
