MOTHER-PART TEN
Report is not good and I don’t think it will improve much, if any.
I am really slow to comprehend what is going on with Mother. I really think she has had a stroke (CT scan Dec. 27) but part of her rapid decline could very well be the process of kidney failure.
She was asleep today when I visited. I pulled off one of her socks to check her foot, put it back on and put another pair on her (trying to keep her feet warm) and she never flinched. In the past, barely touching her would wake her. Just before I left I tried to wake her but could not, the nurse came in took off the covers and she barely roused. She did open her eyes and look at me. I do not think she recognized me whether it be because she was awakened or just because she can’t, I do not know.
The road ahead looks rough and short but surely, I do not know the number of days. Only God knows and He has promised not to put more on me than I can bear. He has carried me many times and walked with me others, so again He will carry me thru what I must face when it is time.
Til Next Time
