Disappointed Dress Shopping and Other Ramblings
Today I get up about 9, get dressed and go to the city. I go to Sam’s and shop for a ‘pantry & tool shower’ being given tomorrow to a dear friend’s daughter and a cousin’s son (that would also be my cousin). I bought several items for the pantry, but instead of buying any tools, I bought them some “bearded iris bulbs”. He can use the garden tools he gets to plant the bulbs in the spot designated by her.
Also, tomorrow I plan to attend a memorial service for a classmate’s mom. My brother was in the class with another of her son’s, so he too will be attending.
I do not hesitate in the least to wear a pant-suit to church, but would be very uncomfortable wearing one to the memorial service. So I go shopping for a dress or top and skirt. Yes, I have dresses and skirts but they are about 20 pounds ago. I did not find anything suitable to wear. What I did find was if you do not want to show clevage or be melted and poured in a skin tight or see thru top, there is nothing dressy for me in the 3 stores I shopped in today. Found several that I think may have been suitable, but guess what—they were not petites. I am short and wide, which in itself creates shopping problems. I did not go to the more expensive shops, but guess in the future, I will have to bite the bullet and shop there.
I did get my hair done this morning. That may have saved my day.
Went to see my mom a few minutes this afternoon. She did not want to talk. Sometimes she talks and sometimes not.
I need to stitch some on the baby blanket. BTW, the blanket is for the bride’s niece.
I have been invited to the wedding of the above couple. I am so pleased that I am included in the list that is for very close family and friends. I had no idea that I would be invited. I would have understood perfectly had no invitation been sent but am thrilled that I got one.
The washer has just stopped so I need to work on getting the clothes done for the second time. The dryer cut off and I did not hear it, when I thought about it, the clothes were all wrinkled.
Til Next Time
